Sometimes you come across one of those words that just catches you unannounced and you just can't pronounce it... until someone of course helps you.

Some examples of the words I find difficult to pronounce; Paralysis for example!

    What are yours?

Facetious. That one actually drives me nut, because I use it in writing a lot but any time I want to use it in real-life and the pressure's on I usually make a hash of it.:(

    I always mess up animation.

Also the name Liam Neeson if I don't say it slowly. Always spoonerises itself and goes into Neal Leeson.

Dyslexic. I end up saying dexlexlex...can't even THINK it!

I'm usually fine with pronunciations so long as I don't think about it.

There's an ad on the radio about antibiotics, and every time it comes on, the pronounciation sounds weird. But then I try to say it to myself and I stumble over it or sound really awkward.

I can't pronounce "boobs" without giggling. Teehee.

I also have difficulty with the words "rectangular," "teapot," "negligible" and "I was wrong".

As far as I know, 'Worcestershire' is never pronounced as it is written. I believe the correct pronunciation sounds more like 'Wooster' which thankfully is easier. I suppose its similar to Arkansas being pronounced 'Arkansaw', or Colonel being pronounced as 'Curnel'. English must seem strange to people learning it as their second language.

I will usually say revelation when I mean relevation or vice versa, making myself look even more stupid than usual :)

Hierarchy and Mischievous give me spelling and pronunciation probs.

    Literally.

    Comes out slowly as lit-er-al-ly.

Am so annoyed that I stumble on that word :(

"Kitchen Hero" Donal Skehan had a go at pronouncing it as its written the other night. Also funny pronuciation of Paprika!
