Threads like these usually have someone answer a question before posting another one, will be a mess otherwise.

I was going to say Paul Russell lala, but he was a Killarney man not a West Kerry man so I guess not. He did win a Senior AI at 17 though.

Edit: In the 90's?..You wha?! Is this a trick question?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,243 ✭✭✭lala88

The answer is Geraldine O'Shea from Annascaul/Kerry. Won an All Ireland Senior ladies title in 1993 when she was 16 and a Minor title in 95. Never said it was a he at any stage :pac:

Ah for the love of God - I was pulling my hair out at this one.

Was looking up teams from the 1930s

Given the Minors did a three in a row between 1931 and 1933 and the seniors a four in row between 1929 and 1932 was betting there was someone from there.

There are a couple of folks who I'm going to use this one on as a way to pass on the pain.

Thats why I gave the answer I did. I think he had won a fourth medal by the time he was 21.

In which year were 3 of the 4 midfielders in an All-Ireland final from the same place (parish/town), yet none of them was playing for his native county in that final?

1942 final, Dublin v Galway. 3 of the midfielders were West Kerrymen. Joe Fitzgerald (uncle of future Kerry player Aodán MacGearailt) was winning captain of Dublin. He was partnered by Mick Falvey from Dingle, while Dan Kavanagh from Dún Chaoin was midfield for Galway.
