UK shows are skippable in terms of a watching live perspective. But reconsider as this is a glorious train wreck and VERY pass remarkable.

So I take it that this is just a spoiler thread from the get-go then, and not a live discussion?

Vince with a Christ like pop there

I'm pretty sure Vince McMahon probably thinks he gets a bigger pop than the good Lord himself.

Just watched it there now, what happened the crowd during the main event, they sounded so vocal before the show went to commercial and when it came back they seemed to have died, they did however manage to liven up for a big ''feed me more'' chant, it nearly had me thinking that maybe some editing took place

Who replaces Ryback on team Foley, Foley himself?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,096 ✭✭✭✭the groutch

sounds from the spoilers like one of the worst RAWs ever.
10 matches, most of which were squashes, and some very stupid storylines being continued.

I'm suprised there have been 18 (now this 19) replies about RAW normally it's 5/8 pages long

I'm glad I'm not watching that crap, got rid of my Sky Sports

Its because the show wasn't live. It was recorded in the UK earlier in the day so spoilers were out before the show started.

I looked at my VCR clock halfway through this show and nearly died when I saw I was only an hour and a half into it. Nothing happened for the vast majority of this show.

Maddox is now a face in my eyes; his promo has made me get 100% behind him.

The change to the main event of the Series is....actually, I don't even know what word to assign to it. Poor Foley, getting an angle with Punk last week, only for it to be basically dropped this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,820 ✭✭✭grames_bond

I don't care what anyone says - I enjoyed that raw! Crowd was amazing, ziggler was main event, vince got the monster of all pops, some really good in ring action!

It's what you want from a RAW!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,116 ✭✭✭starviewadams

So much filler and pointless stuff,it's getting very hard to skim through Raw these days.

They have so much time to book things properly, yet they still manage to make a complete balls of Survivor Series with changing the main event and whatnot.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,469 ✭✭✭✭GTR63

Have this taped, read the report and now am delaying myself from watching it. Took my dog for a walk, went to the shop, now i'm skimming through the new Fighting Spirit.

You just outed yourself TSC! I love it. Was in Maplins today and they had NEW blank VHS tapes for sale. Gotta love Ireland. Let no-one say we do not keep it real.

Who do we reckon Ryback's replacement will be, then? I'm really running out of ideas as to who it could be. The Miz with a potential face-turn? Someone who makes a comeback? Evan Bourne or somebody?

I genuinely don't know who could possibly do it..

Really? My dad was looking for a tape to record the All Ireland final off Sky Plus. Wonder if there are any around here.

Just watched RAW and I think WWE need to have one of their PPVs there to get the reaction they need. I enjoyed the crowd during Vickie's segment with the constant booing, then the Yes's for Cena getting with AJ.
Speaking of AJ, is she not on the tour? Strange they'd show her like that when the crowd wanted to see her in person.

Haha, just a typo. Sorry to disappoint, but I meant DVR. Forces of habit die hard :P

Not a great Raw really, the crowd made the first half of it quite enjoyable but then the ridiculously awful Bryan match killed them stone dead. Absolutely crazy decision to have him squashed like that, and made even worse because the crowd were popping like hell for him. Seemed like they pretty much killed the rest of the show crowd-wise after that. Squashing one of your most popular wrestlers... The mind boggles.

I can hardly remember much of the rest of it, it was so throwaway. Punk got hardly any time and didn't really say much of note, the Cena/AJ/Vickie/Ziggler storyline is beyond awful, Maddox was too drawn out but he's not too bad really.

I don't want to sound like the clichéd internet whinger, but is the show just gone really poor lately? For the past few years people have been levelling criticism at the show pretty consistently but I always found something to enjoy in it, even up til the end of the summer I was generally enjoying it, but lately it's wearing thin with me and I'm coming close to not bothering with Raw any more... There still are bits and pieces I like but it's like there's no energy to it.
Anyway, probably not the thread for it. As you were...

In summary; Raw - not the besht.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

I know it's easy in hindsight to say Bryan/Cody should've gotten more time (especially considering how hot the crowd were for it) but when you look at the rest of the show it becomes even more ridiculous how little time they got. Slater/Uso and the women both got much more time than they did. Watched the majority of Raw last night (while failing to fall asleep) and I know this really doesn't need to be repeated but it felt like it was going on forever (even before we got to hour 3).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,549 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Speaking of Slater, Jinder Mahal really does not fit in with 3MB. Every time he does something it seems to be all striff as if he's trying to remember what he should be doing. Slater and Drew(wherever he was) do the air guitar, etc in a more natural looking way. Mahal seems to have a habit of starting to do one thing, sees 1 or both of the others doing somthing else so he follows them instead.

So who do yas think AJ is really riding? I reckon it's Hornswaggle. Everytime there is a mystery in WWE (Vince's son/Anonymous GM) it's always Hornswaggle. :)

Only just got around to watching Raw and I was pleased with what I saw.

I now care about Brad Maddox and I'm already a Fandangoo fan. Fanfandangoo?

Okay I'm not big on Ryback but these recent character debuts (or re-debuts as the case may be) are working for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

Sad to hear Drew's mam is quite sick. Was looking forward to hearing the crowd's reaction on raw. Sheamo got a big pop so I'd imagine he would've got one too. Bryan was crazy over, much like at Mania WWE Job him out lickety split.

The McMahon segment with Vicky smacked of completely changing the booking and here you go, here's the slapdashed explanation.

Awesome seeing the response to Sheamo, Barrett and Bryan. Makes the show so much better. Cheering for the talented guys too.

How come Vince chastised Vicky for rewarding Punk after his HiaC screw job right after rewarding Maddox with a potential contract for his HiaC screw job?

I don't think Vince (in character) sees it as a reward. When he was talking he was clearly assuming that Ryback would absolutely destroy Maddox, thus punishing Maddox for his mistake and probably prompting him to never show his face again.

Not that I think it will go down as Mr. McMahon planned it.

    Bryan wasn't squashed.

sure the match was short. In the match itself he was in control till he dicided to take out Sandow and that provided a distraction for Cody to hit BOTH of his main moves. It took a distraction and both of Cody's finishers to take him down for a three count. A three count he recovered from quick enough to still be fighting Cody during the Kane v Snadow match.

The Kane and Sandow match was also short. Put them together and you get the length of time a tag team feud should get considering this feud has to be stretched out beyond the next PPV thanks to the elimination match at Survivor Series.

In the segment-by-segment, Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara & R-Truth vs. Titus O’Neil & Darren Young & Antonio Cesaro and the beginning of John Cena and Vickie Guerrero in the ring gained 313,000 viewers, which is really strong.
The rest of the Cena/Guerrero stuff and Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes lost 56,000 viewers. Kane vs. Damien Sandow lost 36,000 viewers.
The Brad Maddox interview where Vince McMahon came out with Vickie Guerrero to change Survivor Series gained 341,000 viewers in the 9 p.m. slot which is no more than it usually would gain at that time.
Sheamus vs. The Miz lost 355,000 viewers.
Backstage stuff with Dolph Ziggler, C.M. Punk and Vickie Guerrero and William Regal and Sheamus lost 190,000 viewers.
Eve Torres & Aksana vs. Layla & Kaitlyn gained 96,000 viewers.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Kofi Kingston put at 10 p.m. lost 49,000 viewers at 10 p.m. which used to never happen.
Santino Marella & Zack Ryder vs. Primo & Epico and Wade Barrett vs. Brodus Clay lost 179,000 viewers.
Heath Slater vs. Jey Uso lost 167,000 viewers to a show low 2.48 quarter.
John Cena & Ryback vs. Dolph Ziggler & C.M. Punk gained 1,084,000 viewers to a 3.22 overrun.
So the idea of Cena & Ryback as a team was a huge hit.

Alot of internet sites are pushing hard for Dolph to cash in the MITB and be pushed hard ? I must be the only one who finds him incredibly annoying and switch channels when he's on ?

Definitely, hopefully to begin an all heel fashion feud with Fandango.

It'll be an interesting gimmick for him to have tbh; a massive contract which, presumably, he cannot be fired from. He can be as sleezy and as big an ass as he wants...
