    Hi there folks.

Hoping you can help me out.

I have decided to start running and am hoping to run a marathon late next year. I am looking for recommendations for good running shoes that help minimise the impact on your knees and lower back.

I am totally clueless in this area so any info would be greatly appreciated. Also some info on insoles or additional supports if necessary would be brill. My knees aren't great. They click a lot and get sore if I bend them excessively. I've also had problems with my lower back in the past.

    Thanks!

Go into Elvery's and get the gait analysis done.

I wouldn't go to those cowboys. They try to sell orthotics to almost every one nowadays.

OP go to a more reputable running store such as Amphibian King or Runways and get a proper gait analysis. Different people suit different shoes so there is no 'one fits all' answer.

Sound advice there don't go to Elverys. Amphibian King sorted me out. Try get someone who actually runs to fit you for runners makes all the difference.

Yep, Amphibian King are the biz. Spent half an hour with me analysing gait and letting me try out different runners on a treadmill.
