safety of spring water

    The story so far;

    Have been at current address since 1999.
    House is not near mains but has water supply pumped from nearby spring.
    Just 2 adults in the house all this time.
    Recently did a water test for curiosity, no other reason.
    results came back with e coli 4 times over the limit. lab suggests u v filters.
    Neither of us have had as much as a tummy ache in all those years.
    Are we immune to it / got used to it.
    Should we just carry on (it tastes fine by the way) or consider one of these filters. How good are they?

    You have prob built up an immunity alright
    But visitors might not
    I would use water from hot tap for teeth brushing etc, it has prob been heated at some stage
    We use a uv filter on our well for peace of mind
    Only hassle I'd replacing it every yr
