I have been told these are no longer available on a medical card prescription. Does anyone know if this is true please?

Hang on, am I right in saying that, until recently, people with a medical card could get SLIMMING TABLETS free of charge??

Used to annoy me too. Then I realised that a huge number of people who take these drugs have unfortunate side effects like poop-in-the-pants accidents. Fairly karmic really :)

When a certain Prescription tablet came out, the leakage shall we say was well known.

Hence every order to the pharmacies was always accompanied by a few cases of tissues.

Xenical quite rightly is off the GMS

It's not a slimming pill as such. It comes in an 84 pack box, however if you eat a healthy meal you dont need to take it as it simply blocks the absorption of some of the fat in a meal. If you eat a fruit salad or salad it wont do anything as these dont contain fats.

So what happens when you eat a fatty meal? Well the undigested oily fats pass straight out. Unfortunately you hhave little control over this, and while you think you are letting rip a sneaky fart, your underpants are covered in a greasy, oily mess. It actually smells like oil and not faeces. Very messy.

I've heard of many people caught out, worst of all a cousin who wore a beige dress to a wedding and shat herself for all to see.

So it's more the fear of what might happen when you combine fatty food and these tablets that make people lose weight than anything else.

Xenical is only back on the market in the last month after about a year off it due to manufacturing issues. You can buy a half stregth form with prescription called Alli.

    Both are expensive.

Moral of story. If you are fat and want to lose weight, don't be so lazy, eat healthy and exercise and don't make products that are likely to make you **** yourself with an oily mess!

Slightly off-topic but does anyone know why the Omacor products are not longer available?

Because Omacor are fish oils not a medicine.

If people want increased fish oils then improve their diet and supplement with an OTC product.

Same thing for Xenical, if you want to lose weight stop eating sh.ite.

I still can't believe people are getting Nicorette products on the medical card. If they want to stop then stop. If they want to die of smoking related disease, fcuk them.
