hi there, firstly just wondering is it bad for one to be gyming 4 times per week?
Basically i want to know is am I overdoing it? I suffer from stress and depression time to time and I find that keeping active like this has helped me to be happier and stress free. 2 days are spent in gym which involves, running, cycling, rowing, skipping and weights and the other 2 days are spent swimming. My workouts are usually 1 hr 45mins with little rest within that periods. In the weekend i road cycle at pace 40-65kms depending.

Along with what I have already said, my other goals also were to lose weight and since October 2010, ive gone from being 95kg to 72kg, I am 6 foot 2. I want to get down to 70kg. Trying to watch diet too as well and cut out drinking from once a week to once every three months. I have succeeded here. The only bad thing i do with diet is that i have two small bars of cholcolate and banana before workout,,
i get hungry fast otherwise and run out of energy during workout. Tried fruit and all of that before a workout but still feel hungry before i ever commence exercise.
Anything solutions for me to try something better than two bars of cholcolate before workout?

Anyway a bit of advise to my two queries would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers.

Does it feel like you're overdoing it? Are you energized, or tired, generally? Your exercise levels don't sound excessive but that's an individual thing. You should know by how you feel jn everyday life. How long have you been doing this?

Don't beat yourself up over the odd treat either but there are many many other options you can choose for a preworkout snack.

Tired after workouts but i guess thats normal is it? I feel happy and fine though afterwards which is a plus for me. Started training in October 2010 but upped the exercise in January 2011. My opinion and i am open to correction here is that I would burn off the calories of those two bars of chocolate on a workout anyway. Would I be correct? And are they bad for my health is what I want to know if i am going to burn them off with exercise? I used to try cheese but my cholestral started to rise so I just cut it out (not saying what Im doing now is correct either).

In a gym session I would burn approx 700-900 kcals excluding what i do with weigh exercises and I do them too so I would be hitting around 1000kcals give or take. I dont know how many kcals i would burn in the swimming pool but I do 100 x 25 meter lengths 2 days a week and usually on a saturday after my road cycle i would do one 50 x 25 meter lengths so someone might be able to tell me how many kcals that would be approx and by the way I wouldnt be an excellent swimmer like an olympic athlete, just an average swimmer so I should be burning more kcals than an excellent swimmer.

    cheers.

I'm the wrong person to answer you so, because I dont put any faith in the kcal readouts on exercise machines, and kcal burned would not be the focus of any training I do.

If you are struggling to shift that last 2kgs, then the easiest thing to do is not eat junk calories like chocolate, tbh.
