    :D 9 - 1 please

this game worries me, its exactly the type of game we will control, go 1 up, bring on a defensive midfielder and invite them onto us and they score a 92 minute equaliser.

    I'll settle for 8-1...

Hopefully we'll have Dembele back, he played four we won four, he got injured, we played four and lost two, drew one.

    He makes the difference.

heres hoping, he makes us tick, a bit like Modric did for so long. in saying that we shouldnt be so reliant on any player to beat lower half team majority of time if we are a top team.

shall we have a little wager that this wont happen. I would honestly be happy if we did go 442 just dont see him changing it.

ah come on give the bloke a break. Injured, dropped, injured again and then ill. We are a much better alround team when he plays.
Any chance he will be fit for the Wigan game?

Great, that means persevering with Dempsey  We should win this game but what do you think the odds are on us only scoring 1 or maybe 2? I reckon this will pan out exactly like the Southampton game. We have no creativity in the middle of the park and with Dempsey and Sigurdsson both proving poor replacements for VDV it'll be all down to Lennon and Bale again.

Hope we haven't, but he has history with the same injury unfortunately.

    Spurs 1 nil = 7s
    Spurs 2 nil = 7s
    Spurs 2-1 = 13/2

    I'd go with Spurs -1 at 5/4

Emmanuel Adebayor returns to the squad but Mousa Dembele misses out with injury for Saturday's Premier League fixture against Wigan.

"We are waiting for information on Jake Livermore, hopefully he'll feel better from the knock that he got against Norwich," Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas told Spurs TV on Thursday.

"Mousa will have further information on his injury today, so he will be out of the game. Ade has made a good return - he trained today - so he will be available for selection. Naughton and Mason are both back.

"So it's positives and negatives for sure, but we have 25 players who want to do well."

I probably risk repeating myself on here but I hope Llloris and Ade start.

Sad thing is Ade's probably not sharp enough to start. Fingers crossed! COYS

Could be the perfect match for Ade to get a 30 min run though

Surely he has to get a run. I am very nervy about this game tbh.

Hope this post doesn't come back to bite me in the bum, but I'm very confident about this weekend, I fancy us to win well.

Friedel; Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen; Sandro, Huddlestone; Lennon, Dempsey, Bale; Defoe

At this rate AVB will have another mutiny on the horizon, Llloris and Adebayor can't be happy, I know I'm not..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Well Ade is just back so I'd expect him after about 60 minutes, but I'm with you on Lloris. He should be our No. 1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

AVB and Martinez obviously go to the same tailor :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Dempsey again shooting when a pass would've been better. If possible there's someone who's actually more greedy on the pitch than Defoe.

That's not good, Sandro off injured already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

This is very poor, we've been crap so far and should be a goal down too.

With Hudd playing DM we're gonna be in trouble. Nervous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

We're actually being outplayed by Wigan. They should have scored again there except for Friedel (who's justifying his selection!). They've had more chances on target than us and seem to be able to keep the ball in our half with more ease than us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭Leinstersqspur

Fcuk sake lads, we're falling apart, should be 2-0 down!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,019 ✭✭✭davycc

Klye Walker is having another shocking **** game..he is gonna cost us a goal again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

I think with Sandro gone, AVB should be looking at 4 - 4 - 2 in the 2nd half, with both Ade & Defoe on. Get Dempsey off and have Hudd and Sigurdsson in the middle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 639 ✭✭✭Seillejet

    Wigan controlling it.

We look like a set piece team.

Shocking how easy our defence is being picked apart.

Only poor Wigan finishing has us level and Brad.

Defense is awful today. Standard enough saves from Friedel, but he's made them so we're luckily 0-0 still. Need a serious kick up the arse in the 2nd half, or we'll lose this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Well, I didn't think I'd be saying this against Wigan but thank **** for the half time whistle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭Leinstersqspur

Ade should be on to lead the line. If this doesn't change for the better I might do some ironing during the second half;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 540 ✭✭✭Equium

Well deserved. Have Spurs actually got a game plan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,951 ✭✭✭SuprSi

And there's Wigan's reward for completely outplaying us so far.

Wrong choice by AVB to swap Defoe for Ade, but it's the players i have an issue with today. They are bloody clueless. Vert is about the only person on the pitch that has shown anything today. Gallas, Dempsey, Siggy and Walker are bloody awful. Horrible performance.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 442 ✭✭Emoran

Genuinely have no idea why we signed Dempsey. He doesn't improve us in anyway possible in the slightest, yes he scored for Fulham but we should in no way be compared with Fulham. He just doesn't cut it at the top level, no pace, no real eye for goal and not much flare about him.

    Jesus I miss VDV :(

wrong choice ? This forum is full of people calling for ade over defoe. It doesnt matter, everyone except for brad was awful today. A disgusting performance, i remember one soft long range effort by bale and that was it, nothing else in 90 min at the lane.

Huddlestone is not a player, he is rubbish and belongs in divison two. Even if we had dembele today it wouldnt have made a difference cos the whole team was shocking.

I really am disgusted after today, we have city and arsenal away next and liverpool at home, we will most likely lose at least two of them. We are going to slip way down the league in the next few weeks.

worst performance in a long time and as kingdom said, avb was there sitting on the bench with his head stuck in his notebook - woeful, absolutely woeful
