Shelf life of painkillers / antibiotics?

Hi, hope this is the right place to post this.

A few months ago I had 2 wisdom teeth extracted and due to some complications, I ended up getting a second prescription for painkillers and antibiotics, which I didn't use all of in the end, and just left in the medicine cabinet.

This week i had the other two wisdom teeth removed, and I've come to the end of the medicine prescribed - the same painkillers and antibiotics. I'm wondering if it would be ok to take the leftover medicines from about 5 months ago, or whether they've expired and it would be an act of lunacy/suicide?

I'm in Japan and these are (I assume) Japanese medicines, if that makes a difference.

they should be fine if stored correctly.
for a lot of medicines they have an expiry because the law says they have to, not because they need one.
painkillers and anti biotics should give no trouble.
