Does anyone know when the additonal Saorview multiplex will commence?

The second mux is ready according to RTÉNL and will start if and when content becomes available, maybe next year - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=79663072

Do you know when MUX 2 is going live? And when it does, will it go live on all the transmitters (main and auxiliary) at the same time or will it take a few days to turn all of them on? — at Carraroe, Co Galway

Saorview Hi Feithín. We don't have a definite date yet for MUX 2. When it does go live it will be simultaneous on all transmitters.

Feithín Ó Fátharta Great stuff, it's clear that RTÉNL really did put a lot of thought and work into designing and building the new network and I'm really impressed!

Content is already available - TG4 HD, Oireachtas TV. TV3HD is rumoured and it probably wouldn't take much effort to do a part-time RTE1HD on a similar basis to RTE2HD. The real question is how the cost of turning on the second mux is going to be divvied out.

Terrible website. RTENL to run 3 muxes, really? "TV Sets To Go Digital With Just Analogue Switched Offuntil DSO" wtf is that even supposed to mean?

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.
