What's the story with the times changing to 5 last week and back to 6 this week? Is USA doing daylight saving this weekend?

What do we think about tonights game then? Easy win for the Chargers IMO, the Chiefs are absolutely awful.

Another bad primetime game, gonna go Chargers though - can't see Cassel doing much...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 691 ✭✭✭baddebt

Probably a low scoring game ,two poor enough teams
Chargers ain't up to much on offense ,
Jamal charles could be the difference tonight tho

Colts vs Jaguars is Thursday Night Football next week also. Enthralling stuff.

Chargers are terrible but they'll win. Kansas are hilariously bad. It's week 9 and they have not held a lead in a match. The only time they went ahead in a match was in overtime in week 3.

I fancy the Chargers, but they will probably make it much more difficult than it should be.

Rivers with some big plays early on.

    TD!!!!

I fancy the Chiefs tonight. Rivers is as bad as Cassel right now because he has so little options in the passing game. I'll take Jamaal Charles with Hillis and Draughan over Matthews, Brown and Battle.

One of the nicest drives the Chargers put together this year, Chiefs D looks awful.

I hope Tallaght (or any of the others, for that matter) didn't just hear Neil Reynolds comparing Geno Smith to RG3 :pac:

Tallaght? I did and Neil Reynolds knows fook all about college football. He is a NFL analyst and that is where it stops. His articles when he mentions college football are awful.

Rivers having an almost perfect night and then he does that. It was an awful decision to throw there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

    That first half flew by!

Was just about to post how well Rivers is doing but what an absolutely stupid decision it was to throw the ball there at the end of the half.

I suppose when you spend enough time around a stupid person like Norv Turner it is going to rub off on you eventually.:pac:

    Oh Cassels, that was ridiculous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Jesus, Charles took a serious hit to the head there. Hopefully he's OK.

Last Chiefs QB to win a game that was drafted by the Chiefs was in September 1987 vs Chargers..... That's actually shocking

The way they're going this year Matt Barkley or Geno Smith should fall into their lap. They don't have a bad team at all but they're completely rudderless at the moment, and that's coming from the lack of a proper QB.

Judging from the game last night, Cassels is a long way down on their list of problems.

Their problem is they consistently shoot themselves in the foot.

Exactly, the Chargers didn't force many punts at all. They beat themselves, and Cassels cannot take the blame for the mistakes last night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

In fairness to Cassel he actually converted a good number of third downs last night. He's not the answer but he's not the only problem either

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

The problem is Charles isn't getting it enough from what I can see. He's the team's best playmaker by some distance and they're not really getting him in the game. But after stifling GB last year you would think their defense would at least be a strength. Opposing QBs have a rating of 106.3 against them, and you simply cannot win games like that.

You gotta rebuild from the QB up. Ask Washington why they traded so many picks for RG3. Get a QB who can at least inspire those around him, and build from there.

Cassel is not good enough to be fair. There are a lot of problems on that team though. The defense is awful and needs a lot of looking at.

They need the leader on D as much as they need a QB. It depends on their position in the draft. If they are 1 then its likely they take a QB but if they are 2 or 3 then its a bit different. There are some seriously talented defensive line and linebacker prospects coming out of college next year. I hear people raving on about Geno Smith but I personally don't think he is a top ten pick. He is ok when he has loads of time but everytime he has come up against a good defense he has looked poor.

So I think they go Barkley if they are no.1 but look to improve the defense with a stud if they are not.

They've missed on so many high defensive picks in recent years. They really should have a formidable D but no team can sustain regularly missing with early draft picks.

The chiefs not leading at anytime in their first seven games mean they tie the 1929 buffalo bisons. And the bisons folded at the end of that season.

Im fancying steelers for upset tonight here

did a write up on my blog. Think our passing game has been very solid this year and blackburn could be a loss for the giants

I fancy the Giants tonight, especially at home. The ''Hurricane Sandy effect'' will be in full force.
