Right, I'm a fat slob, I have to change this. Yesterday, I weighed in at 74.8kg, which is at least 5kg overweight for someone of my scrawnyness. So, I've put together a plan of attack, nothing mental like a diet of chick-pea and lentil soup served with dry black seaweed bread and washed down with Oolong tea for a month complimented with 10km of power walking every evening.

My plan of attack is simple, I have come up with a spread sheet, every day I have to lose .06kg or .42kg per week (concentrating more on weekly than daily), which I feel is very achievable. Most mornings I will weigh myself. Obviously being off target means certain sacrifices will be made and being a good bit ahead of target will mean certain temptations will be indulged.

I have decided to change my diet a little, here's what's happening to me at the moment, when I'm at home, my dad cooks a massive lunch for me, which includes a sack of potatoes, half an animal, a plantation of veg and bucket of gravy, I have asked, pleaded and screamed at him but he won't stop pilling on the food. My girlfriend also puts food under my nose constantly. It ends here, saying no or leaving food behind is my game from here on in. Lunch at work, I've reduced it down to soup and a roll, which fills me in nicely. I've replaced Coke with water and the following can only be consumed whilst under target: all take-away food (I eat a lot of pizza), Coke, chocolate and beer.

Exercise, gone a bit wayward on this also. Since the raid in July, I've been on the bike twice. This week I joined the gym, whilst it's something I never wanted to do, I think it's necessary. So on the days I'm not doing something else, I'll go to the gym. I currently play soccer for an hour on Wednesdays in Carlow and two weeks ago started spinning on Thursdays. My teams matches are on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. When not doing these I will be in the gym in the evening. Exercises will mainly be aerobic with a small bit of weight training on my legs. Since I've gone part-time at work, I appear to have one day off on the weekend, which I will do a club spin on.

Last night I learned that going out of Friday night is not a good idea, even though I only had two beers, I won't make this mistake again. The main reason for this is that I'm back on the fags, I'm smoking about 5 per day but that increases once I go out. I found it hard to get up this morning. When I was training more regularly before, I didn't smoke except when I went out, this what I want to return to and hopefully quit altogether. I don't smoke until evening time.

I will fill this in with what I've done, my weight early in the morning and that sort of thing. I'm kinda hoping to receive encouragement and punishment here.

Beasty is very disappointed with Tinky Winky for going back on such "substances"...

    Very best of luck.
However I find it amusing that at 20kg heavier than yourself that you consider yourself overweight.
I would say that you are neither fit nor toned. Concentrate on that and the weight will then look aged itself.
I would rather be 80kg and fit than 70kg and smoke.
Ditch the gym and spend time in the saddle.
    Very best of luck.

Three days weight looks like this 74.8, 74.5, 74.3. I spent an hour on an exercise bike in the gym yesterday, going between a hr of 122 and 151 bpm. Had a fag in the evening. I'm due to go out this evening, I don't particularly want to but the OH wants to head out.
