Why don't Godolphin ever send horses over to the BC. I know they have their own stables over there but Saeed bin Suroor doesn't send anything over.

They can't win races in Britain let alone America.

Really looking forward to this, it's great viewing for a friday/saturday night. I presume it's the ATR coverage we will be watching or is there anywhere else? Would love to see SNA do it again this year, also hopefully a big run from treasure beach.

Was hoping to see Gordon Lord Byron in the Mile but not entered, in fact take Ballydoyle & one or two from Weld & Gosden out & there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest this side of the world. Only skimmed entries so maybe have missed a few!

If you Google "santa anita race track" you can get a satellite view of the place. The track looks like a paper clip (very tight turns). The draw will be very important.

GLB will be running in Hong Kong on the 9th of december, he is also entered in the sales as well so provided he is not sold that is where will we see him next.

Thanks for the info bb. I guess there is better incentive to go to places like hong kong and dubai these days where connections get very well looked after. Hope the horse isnt sold, want to see him in Hong Kong and then hopefully heading to Dubai

If he is sold it will be for good money, the fact that he was originally bought for something like 2k and breeding after is not an option, it would be kind of win win for the owners as they would of had have a great horse winning a GP1 and lots of prize money.

On the other hand you only get 1 of these(apart from the super powers) in a life time so maybe go with it and let the horse take you around the world and live the ultimate racing dream. Also i'm sure Tom hogan would not like to loose his stable star.

Funnily enough if he was sold he would prob run in Hong Kong anyway.

Don't know why he'd go for the mile. He doesn't stay a mile and would be demolished by a proper group 1 horse like Excelebration

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 287 ✭✭cack_handed

Obviously this is a bit redundant for this thread, as he aint going to california. Nevertheless, maybe 7f is his optimum distance so the mile comes into the equation, anyway seems to be the mile in HK next go guess you'll be proved right or wrong then

I'd love to see Excelebration go and blow them away. He was so good at Ascot the last day.

This is the first year that the juvenile races will be ran without medication. Hopefully it can spread to the rest of the ages, the yanks horses are more drugged than Lance Armstrong

Anyone know what price St Nic is for the Turf?

Thinking of havin a nice bet on excellebration and sky lantern in a double. And excellebration in a single! Wat u people think of their chances?

I personally think the St Nicholas / Excelebration double is nailed on.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 287 ✭✭cack_handed

Excelebration looks to be entering lay territory imo, if not already there. Admittedly very good last time at Ascot but conditions, by all accounts, will be vastly different on saturday & have heard good accounts of the US trained second favourite. Might still hose up but personally would want significantly better than 11/8-6/4

Lads what o brien horses are on lasix
    If any
I know he had a good few on it last year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 194 ✭✭seoirsem

As far as I am aware, lasix is banned this year.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

I believe Lasix is only banned in the two year old races. Hopefully it can be implemented for all runners soon, the Americans' horses are more drugged than Lance Armstrong

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 261 ✭✭tommyombomb

read that excalebration is not going to be given lasik

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,702 ✭✭✭tryfix

St Nicholas Abbey at 3/1 in the turf is a nice bet, it's a more competitive race this time but I expect him to shine again, like last year.

Not so sure about Excelebration in the mile, he's plenty short in price, it's vastly different ground than Ascot and Wise Dan is a live danger.

Have a good bet on The Fugue in the filly and mare turf race. Also going to double her up with Sky Lantern. Know the two are favs but fancy both tonight.

Wont be going near The Fugue, Excelebration or Starspangledbanner.

American horses for me with a nice bet on Wise Dan

Agree with Wise Dan, hugely impressive horse Nd a great price.
Only horse this side of the water I'd back is sky lantern. Reckon she will hammer them, especially with the yanks 2yo not medicated anymore

I don't fancy Sky Lantern at all for some reason. Don't think that was the strongest of group 1's she won.

I'll have a small bet on Lady of Shamrock in the fillies and mares race. She's the best 3 year old filly in America this year and won two group 1's. Probably not as good as some of the Europeans but has a good attitude and will handle the fast coniditions. 14/1 is big enough

Richard Hughes putting up 2 pound overweight with Sky Lantern, according to ATR.

That last race was soooo fixed, for 2 minutes before they are just showing trainer/ owner of the 20/1 shot at the bottom of the market. Then the favourite is getting back at the 20/1 shot and his jockey stops riding 20 yards from the line and gets beaten a nose.

    Yes it was definitely fixed:rolleyes:

Americans are bitter and sore losers and the jockey was certainly one of them. There was interference and he got a bump but he was the one that stopped for that split second and that cost him the race. I highly doubt it was fixed due to the fact it is the Breeder's Cup and America thinks it's the be all and end all of racing

Moonlight Cloud the best bet of the meet for me. Serious turn of foot, any horse that can barely lose to Black Caviar is a good horse.

Others i have backed Point of Entry in the Turf. Cant have St Nic.

French horse in the F&M tonight second fav

Awesome Feather in the Ladies Classic

Game on Dude in the Classic

Welds horse in the last tonight Whether or Which or something like that

It looked dodgy as hell if you ask me and it's not pocket talk, I backed nothing in it. Even if he did get a bump why would you stand up out of the driving position so close to the line?

I honestly don't know why he got up and looked across maybe there was more to it than we see but i seriously doubt he'd throw out a BC winner for the sake of a few quid and his reaction after the result was called one of seriously being pi$$ed off!

Backed Calidoscopio at 12's earlier and was about to throw the docket away before they got to the winning post first time he was that far back! Cannot believe that
