Question on pull up bars

Hi im looking to pick up a pull up bar. But im not sure which one to pick up. I was looking at one on adverts.ie from a lad in arklow http://www.adverts.ie/1081905

Or the one from d8 fitness
    http://www.d8fitness.com/store/pull-up-station/pull-up-station/

Money is a bit of an issue and the reason I'm looking at the second one is I could then afford to pick up the gym rings and hang them from the bar. ( if I had the cash I'd go for the pullup/dip station on adverts)

So should I get the more expensive pullup bar or go for the cheaper on and throw the gym rings in?

    Thanks

What's on Adverts.ie is only a pull-up bar and not a pull-up/dip station and although the guy on aderts says he can modify the item as he manufactures them himself (possibly added cost for customisation though), personally I would go with the one from D8fitness.

D8fitness has a good reputation and sells quality fitness related items, so just because the item is €20 cheaper would not mean that it is of inferior quality. Also the D8fitness model offers more hand positions than the model adertised on Adverts.ie.

Just be aware that you will need a fairly sturdy wall to install this on as it will have to withstand your body weight moving around on it.

    Hi Googled_eyes,

You could try argos at the following link:
    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9268434/Trail/searchtext%3ECHIN+UP.htm

I actually have one of these still in the box which I've never used as I have cavity block walls and I couldn't get it hung - didn't realise the walls were cavity blocks until after I bought it. They're a good solid construction.

With all due respect, but the item from D8fitness for the extra €5 looks a much sturdier option tbh. I honestly would not fancy hanging gym rings or a TRX off the Argos version. I would not trust it to take the abuse I would be giving it.

    Thanks for the replies.

Tommyknocker: I should maybe have mentioned his other add which is a combined unit but it's too expensive for me at the minute. That's why I was comparing the two pullup bars. I was thinking of getting the rings as this would enable me to do dips without the cost. The walls of my shed are nice and sturdy either way;)

Deodub: thanks for that link but I'm not sure how comfortable I'd feel throwing a set of gym rings over that setup

I bought one from the lad in Arklow. It is top quality.
I asked for it to be an extra 6 inches out from the wall and he did that for no extra cost. An elephant come do kipping pull ups on it.
One thing I like about it is that the bar is quite long, 4 foot wide.

Get the D8fitness bar. It allows you to do all 3 grip positions, the other 2 don't

I have seen both of these exact bars.

Its your own personal opinion to be honest.

Anything from that guy in Arklow is top quality. I got a frame set up from him a couple of weeks ago.

After a lot of consideration I think I'm going to get the one on adverts. I think his bar will last me longer.
He seems to have a lot of good reviews on the site. Plus arse..biscuits and Hailhail1967 have said his work is good quality.

    Thanks for your opinions.
