LOL - imagine, asking for a kitchen with pots and pans for christmas - I know - we did it too with the likes of hoovers and ironing boards. Thanks goodness those days are gone. LOL did't do much for equality did we.

An enormous teddy bear that I saw in the shop. It was almost taller than me. And I got it too. :p

Well, I'm the easiest woman in the world to buy for as a result ;)
A few years ago my workmates were aghast that I had been given a Dualit Toaster by my O/H for Christmas. I was thrilled! :D:D

I got what I was given, and accepted with a smile, the best gifts came from my siblings,

times were tough, but we always tried to get each other something (no matter how small).

I don't really remember asking for stuff that much, I kind of always knew there was no point asking for big things... I do remember one year asking for my own blackboard, I have a feeling that was probably when I was 4 because I had just started school and I loved it... When I was 5 I probably wanted something like a crayola set or something. It was '87, I can't remember what was 'in' that year...

The Year was 1992, A young Lisa Celtic awoke to the best suprise Santa Ever Left any child ever, I had never heard of it put my god i played with it for years... we used to set it up and my brother would set up his lego and we would play for hours...

I think it was a bike, as i can remember afterwards, doing the old daddy/daughter routine of learning to cycle without the stabilisers.

I can't remember if I was 4 or 5, but my cousin had one... and I so wanted this record player.

    recordplayer.jpg

(Little did I think that Christmas morning, that it would still work 30 plus years later. It resides in my Mam's house and is entertaining the next generation.)

Good God, I can't remember back that far.
I might have asked for a train set.
Either that or an Action Man ..... that might have been when I was 6 though.

My dad made me one too when I was a bit older. :)

When I was 5 I think I got a Barbie and possibly a Glow Worm.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 27,863 Mod ✭✭✭✭Posy

Aaaw, I remember having a glow worm once. :)

My mother left it on a light bulb on a lamp once to make it glow more and it got slightly melted. :o

Wow...I don't remember exactly about when I was 5; Very likely, some Transformer. I still remember playing with model cars and putting them vertical, sitting on the boot, pretending they transformed in robot form. And it was damn enjoyable. Something the "iPad generation" will never understand :/

I think it could have been a Wendy House (or Windy House as I thought it was called).

My parents told me afterwards that they had a lot of difficulty putting it up when they were drunk on Christmas Eve, so it would be ready to play with the next morning.
