Jags @ Raiders clearly the pick of the bunch for all neutrals.

Only two games on at 9:25?

Guessing everyone will be watching the Patriots-Jets so :pac:

That's a joke. Ravens-Texans and Cards-Vikings obvious late game options. Scott Hanson will have his work cut out for him on the late redzone, as if it wasn't already. Gonna need one hell of a fact sheet.

I have both McFadden and MJD on my fantasy team, so i'll be hoping they run all over each other.

Not mad on Sunday's slate of games to be quite honest. Texans/Ravens should be great and Pats/Jets could be too but im not gone on Sunday or Monday's games.

Woah there... Browns at Indy is the cream of that lot.

    Why clearly?

Because I think the Ravens/Texans game or the Pats/Jets game are more likely to attract the neutral observers interest.

Really looking forward to tonights game. Hopefully I can stay awake for it all. I have to say I am fond of both teams, but I think I'll be cheering on the hawks as they're underdogs.

Goddamnit. Get gamepass for first time this season and now have a third Patriots game out of 7 that sky have picked. And I used slate them coz they never showed them enough before! it'll prob be the main game on redzone though so wont be too bad.

Their only showing them because of the build up to the London game I suspect. Otherwise you wouldn't be seeing so much of them.

    Big game for the Packers.

Think a loss could do irreparable damage to the season. A second win in a row could see optimism build of trip to the post season.

That and the alternative is to show the Raiders vs. Jags.

I'd imagine the majority of the Pats game will be shown on Redzone anyways.

Like I said in the Week 6 thread, Packers need to follow up the Texans game with a win or it'll be pointless. A few weeks ago I'd have said it'd be a very tricky tie but the Rams are missing Bradford's go to man - Amendola - which is a help and if our defence steps up again (could do with Raji back) then we should be ok.

Wish I could watch it live but with such an early start tomorrow morning it will be Game Pass at lunch for me. The hardest thing about it is trying to avoid hearing or seeing the score.

Thank god the eagles are on a bye. The non eagles fans can post here without seeing posts from us(me) swearing and bitching and moaning about how badly they are playing.

Likewise with me and the broncos.

Interesting news before the game - 49er LT Joe Staley starts the game despite suffering a concussion on Sunday. Don't know how smart that is - he suffered a concussion last year too - but I guess the doctors and medical team know the state of the injury better than we do.

Really looking forward to this. I think the 49ers will bounce back in style after their bad defeat last weekend. I just don't think Seattle match up well against them at all.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

San Francisco do not look like scoring a TD any time soon. Seattle are very impressive, and deserve to be leading by more really.

Who and what is Delanie Walker? lol

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

that was a bad bad rookie-type throw, held onto the ball too long and tossed it into double (triple?) coverage.
Big momentum-shift in the last 5 minutes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

ah, game is getting interesting now. Big big interception. Could've put the game to bed there.

    God I hate Alex Smith*

*not really, and he's doing a lot better in general. But with an elite QB the 9ers would be unstoppable.

Dunno why they brought Kaepernik(sp.) in on 2nd...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

bah, gonna say I don't like the punt here, if they kjnew they were punting on 4th and long they should have ensured a positivve gain on 3rd and 12 and give them a chance on 4th. Hate punting the ball away with just over 2 mins left.

Just a first down here will do.. Gore has been excellent tonight, receiving and rushing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

jeez, what a miserable attempt by the 49ers to run the clock. 19 seconds they used on that series. Putting the game in the hands of the D, probably the right thing though.

I don't know wtf just happened but Harbaugh just gave the handicap win to the Seahawks by not taking the penalty and the safety. That gave the 49ers a two score lead and almost certainly the ball back to finish the game.

I'm not normally one to shout conspiracy but this is just too fishy right now for me. I'll try and reason it out but I just don't get it.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 16,304 Mod ✭✭✭✭adrian522

You'd be pretty upset with 49ers if you had them - 7 on the spread after turning down that safety. Anyway good win, could be crucial come December

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,966 ✭✭✭Syferus

Harbaugh looked half confused on the sideline. I doubt he had a few g's on a Seattle handicap win.

Haven't seen the play but my guess is injuries or he just made a mistake.

Well, 49ers were up by 7 and the seahawks had no timeouts and had just failed to convert a 4th down so the 49ers took the ball rather than having the seahawks try to run an on-side free kick.

Seriously why would Harbaugh give a f**K about who gets the handicap win? They lost Josh Morgan for the season last year on a stupid nothing play against tampa at the end of the game so I think the above move was correct.

How do you onside kick from a free kick? Its possible but extremely difficult. I'd doubt that kickers even practice this, it would have to be a drop kick.

Harbaugh didn't just decide to decline, he got the end of the play measured to see if they had a first down. The commentators mere miffed by this. There was 44 seconds left or something like that. If you take the ball and you are one score up the game is likely over but a mistake would still mean the other team has a chance to tie and go to overtime. If you take the safety then even if the other team is successful in recovering the kickoff they have 44 seconds to score twice.

It just makes no sense to me that he changed things. As for your suggestion that he wouldn't have a couple of grand on it. This is way bigger than that, there is huge money bet on every game and most of it is laid in Vegas. I'm not saying there is anything to this but it is awfully strange in that circumstance to turn down a two score lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,546 ✭✭✭Masked Man

    punts/kickoffs can easily cause injuries.

taking the penalty probably decreases their chances of winning by like .00000000000001%. It is possible that the other team scores nine points.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 16,304 Mod ✭✭✭✭adrian522

Well obviously he got it measured to see if it was a first down, if it was a first down he takes the penalty but they have to go through the punt/Free kick where anything can happen (ref Kyle Williams last year).

By declining the penalty all they had to do was kneel it out, it's not like they needed to run any plays.

I'd much rather be in a position where I have the ball with a one score lead and only need to kneel it out than take a chance(however remote) where the opposition gets the ball with time on the clock needing to score twice to win the game.

I've seen enough last minute heroics from Seattle for one season I think.

No conspiracy here I don't think.
