reader\scribing for state exams

hi im just wondering what kind of qualifications are needed to be allowed to scribe\read for state exams.... and how does one go about applying for this....???:):):):):):):):):):):):):):) thanks

You won't find much answers in this forum I'd say! Mostly Junior Cert students here! Maybe this might get better responses in the Teaching & Lecturing Forum?

I doubt a guidance counsellor would be of much help tbh, your best would be to go and talk to the principal of whatever school you're thinking of applying to and give him/her your name.

Almst 100% you will need Garda clearance since you would be working one on one with a young person.

Oops. I misread. I thought they were asking about how to get one, not how to be one! My bad.

Special Centres are set up on behalf of the student who needs the assistance by the Dept. of Ed. and the Principal organises the superintendent themselves. The school pays the person directly for the number of days they worked - basically you would need to approach a school in May and enquire if they need extra superintendents. Normally substitute teachers or even staff from the school are employed.
