What are they building at the back of the library? New apartments?

When I saw this thread title I thought you would be talking about the amazing cornered off square of concrete cornered off outside the Terence Larkin theatre :D

grew up around (and attended) DCU as it was being built. construction used to be a daily feature. I remember reading somewhere (possibly on Wikipedia) that the college bought the empty land behind the library to expand the sports faculitys BUT a new (free) carpark, like the one at the Henry G, would be good

on a personal note, i'd love to see some of the older buildings getting a face lift, particularly Albert College and the Henry G building. Larkin lecture hall would be good too.

There is a plan to build a nano fab facillity, but i think that was to go where the surface car park is rather than the opposite side of the library.

Have they not been at it for years now ?, I think they just dig holes, then fill them, then repeat. Makes the college look like it's expanding and getting bigger when really they're not.

Maybe it's a JCB training ground ? Or a new course in construction management ? OR . . . . . it could be a whole new, bigger and more improved labyrinth ???
