Advice on losing last bit of weight please!

I'm a 23 year old female, I gave birth to my son 3 months ago (plus a few days). I have nearly all the weight I put on during my pregnancy lost. I'm about 4lbs heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight. Some areas of my body seem to be actually thinner than before - some of my high waisted trousers are looser than they used to be and my chest size has reduced. All the remaining weight seems to be in one little pooch on my lower belly. Now you wouldn't notice it unless I wore an absolutely skin-tight outfit and certainly everyone else seems to think I have it all lost. It isn't terribly big, but I know it's there and it really bothers me.

I lost all the weight solely through diet. I restricted my intake 5-6 days of the week and treated myself 1 day (and on rare occasions 2, if there was a function on like a family christening etc.) - I go out for dinner and for drinks. The weight just dropped off, everyone was actually shocked by it. But I haven't really lost much weight in the past 3-4 weeks. It's not my calorie count that is the problem, I count it very carefully and I imagine people would consider it to be on the low side. Even taking into consideration my cheat day I believe my calorie intake for the entire week is sufficiently low enough to lose. I am not really willing to give up my cheat day, as I'm also going through a break-up and need to get out of the house to socialize and be around adults! Although I could probably tone it down to once every 2 weeks, would that help much?

I cut out bread the past 10 days to see if it would make a difference. It doesn't seem to have, I'm less bloated but that's about it. I know it's only been over a week but I'm getting so worried that I will never get rid of the last dreaded bit. Is cutting out bread likely to help? Wholemeal bread used to be the main part of my diet to be honest. I'm trying to replace it with porridge and salads!

Also I really have not started any form of exercise program whatsoever! My doctor advised me against starting any exercise until 8 weeks and then when I reached that I just didn't bother as I had lost so much without it. redface.png I've read in so many places that it's diet what is important, not exercise?? So that kinda puts me off doing it as I feel like I should be able to fix it through diet alone. I used to be an avid runner before I fell pregnant so I'm not lazy... I do have a history of eating disorders and related issues however, so I'm very self conscious and hence would find it difficult exercising in public/in a gym. However I am willing to give the local gym a try if it is likely to make a difference! Has anyone any reccommendations of what exercise would be best for this area and how much would be neccessary?

Thanks in advance for any help! :)
