Tricky end of season game for Wexford Youths away to champions, Limerick. However, unless they lose and Harps beat Longford (involving an 8 goal difference swing), we will finish in 4th place. This is beyond expectations following last season's disaster

The Sligo Pats game is live on RTE2 from 3.30 on Saturday

Playing Bohs on Saturday evening. Will be lucky to get an attendance of 500 after last weeks shambles against Pats. Very honest assessment of the state of the team by Derek Foran in this weeks local papers. Foran has been immense for us this season. Unfortunately he's been pretty much the only one.

Is that really appropriate with a huge playoff still to come though? Dundalk could still survive despite an absolutely shambolic season.

Probably not appropriate but it was perfectly understandable given he was speaking directly after the Pats game. He's obviously very frustrated with the way things are going and let his emotions get the better of him. Team needs to man up and realise that the future of Dundalk FC could be in their hands. First division football could prove to be a fatal blow for us.

A temporary terrace is being erected ahead of Saturday’s match with St Patrick’s Athletic.

The 60 metre terrace will be behind the Nazareth House goal and will be a similar structure to that erected for the European match in the Showgrounds last year.

The terrace will facilitate release of 800 additional tickets for the final matches of the season. The decision has been made due to overwhelming demand for tickets from the clubs supporters.

The original allocation of 5,000 have been sold out, so the club has opted for the temporary terrace to satisfy demand for what will be the biggest-attended league game in the Showgrounds in almost 20 years.

The tickets, which are double-tickets for St. Pat’s and Shamrock Rovers matches, go on sale from 4pm this afternoon in The Showgrounds.

Sales will continue on Friday between 4pm and 8pm and these will be the last tickets available for the matches.

Kick-off for Saturday’s game is 3:45pm and fans are advised to purchase tickets today or Friday to guarantee entrance. Supporters are also encouraged to travel early to the ground to avoid congestion.

    Brilliant tbh

Rovers fans will be happy to know we have to pay at the gate.

I follow Pats on twitter and they tweeted something about tickets for your fans earlier but I didn't read the link. Maybe you should check that in case you need to buy tickets.

Correct and right. You caught a break there with the earlier kick off. The town looks spectacular at this time of year at 7pm.

Bring some friends and enjoy a beautiful balmy evening in Dundalk.

Rumour is that Matthews has been given a one year contract extension. If this is true, won't be going to this or any home game until he departs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,597 ✭✭✭dan1895

I hope to God that's just a rumour.

I hope to God its true. The entertainment will be 1st class for next season.

Heading up Saturday. I reckon 2-2 with a late equaliser for someone.

You can have a 4-0 win if Matthews isn't there the following day.

A man can only take so much. If the man was under contract for next season and we just couldn't afford to sack him, I'd stick out the misery.

But for the board to actually go and sign this man to a new contract, is literally pissing all over the fans, and after his conduct towards the fans this season, I won't be paying his wages. I'll be there on Saturday, and I'll be there against UCD, meaning my third 100% league attendance season in a row, but if Matthews is under contract in March, I'll be achieving a 50% attendance next season or however the home/away games are balanced.

Get on Rovers to beat us.

We are carrying a lot of injuries at present, lot of walking wounded and I can see a lot of guys getting rested for the Cup Final.

Then again, maybe some of the youngsters who may come in will have something to prove for the Cup Final?

A contract extension for what? Will he take over from the greenkeeper?

Essentially he will be taking on the role of scarecrow, keeping people within a safe distance of Tolka Park.

NIMAN, never underestimate Rovers' ability to literally gift goals this season.

I've got 3 friends from Hamburg coming over from Dublin after the match tonight. One of them met two lads last night from Halle who are also traveling over by train in the morning to see it. I'm sure there are a good few more too.

I'm starting to feel ill about tomorrow. I always feel ill when I'm nervous :(

Isn't there a 10% allocation for away supporters, due to UEFA rules? Or is that only the case in Germany?

What do you mean? There is an allocation for away fans and you can buy tickets at the showgrounds tomorrow.
Please note that tickets for St Pat's supporters are only available from the Showgrounds.

Tickets will go on sale at 2.15pm and are priced as follows:

    €15 - Adults
    €10 - Students/OAP's/Un-Employed
    €5 - U-12's

Please note that kick-off is 3.45pm.

Same for us, 10% including seated tickets in main stands.

    400 AFAIK

The Capacity is 6200 as there is a temp terrace going at the shed end where there is usually nothing.

Come in the Stillorgan road entrance, loads of car parking, then go on a magical mystery tour to the bowl. Its sort of go through the car park and keep walking.

Alternatively go in the Wynnsward road entrance and drive round to the bowl itself, you'll get parking there

I'd ****in' love to ruin your party because what seems to go unmentioned is if we do actually get the win, it's game on. F*ck the bunting!

But yeah, if you win tomorrow, no complaints. If Rovers win the league, i'd rather it be Sligo than the Shams.
