    Hi

Got my Mri results back after a football injury, i had previously had ACL reconstruction in 08 when i was 22 , im now 26

the mri results were a tear in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus,

the consultant has advised arthroscopic surgery,

also advised i give up football and impact sports, even running, due to risk of arthritis - further injury

    attached are my MRI results,

anyone with advice , is the consultant being cautious? anyone come back well after acl and then medial meniscus injuries??

medical advice cannot be given on this forum

Something to consider is that if you give exercise it can cause muscular decline in the region especially around the knee which will decrease knee stability and also increase the risk of arthritis or further injury.

I had different knee problems but that's what happened to me (further injury not arthritis) I did no exercise

I'd get a second opinion and talk the issue over with your GP.
