For health reasons only (discounting price, taste and any other factors) - Which would be your preference and why?

I was hoping to get some information by asking the question, to help me decide which to buy.

with all this stuff its good to do the research yourself first then post our thoughs on it and start the discussion.

Well it totally depends on the person.

Are you drinking it for taste?

Obviously the low fat milk has less calories and fat etc. so may suit a person's macros better.

The non organic one will be cheaper so is price a factor?

Personally for me non organic low fat milk.

The problem with doing the research is that you come up against an almost infinite amount of contradictory reports, and it can leave you feeling just as confused as when you started out.

I find it helpful to ask for people's own opinions on a message board that you trust.

Well, organic isn't any healthier than conventional milk so it's down to fat content. How much fat do you want in your diet?

    how non-organic is non-organic milk?
i.e. on what criteria would non-organic milk fail to qualify as organic milk, and to what extent?

I would go for the organic in the Summer especially. An organic herd is mainly grass fed and with the fat it would boost the omega 3. Fat is not necessarily bad, you could drink less if you're worried about calories. I might be wrong, but I do prefer the fact that the cows will have received less harmful substances in their feed and daily upkeep. I don't mind paying the premium and maybe I'm also enriching a farmer rather than a big company and therefor paying him for an extra effort.

No carbon whatsoever. It's silicon based milk.

All I know is that in the shop you can choose the organic milk or the non-organic milk. I'm asking which you personally prefer to consume and why. I don't have answers, hence asking the question.

I really don't think it matters.

Personally for me the questions would be is it from an A1 or A2 herd or is it pasteurised or raw?

I think organic when it comes to milk is fairly pointless.

As for full fat or low fat, I'd go for full. Fat is healthy but if your trying to lose fat then don't drink your calories.

    1. Practically all cattle herds in Ireland are primarily grass fed.
    2. What harmful substances? If an animal is sick it is naturally treated with the appropriate medication. Outside of that all they would receive is vaccinations and minerals if needed.
3.I don't know what business model organic producers use, but most dairy processors were setup by farmers, with farmers still retaining some degree of ownership in the business.
