losing weight too fast?

remembered my livestrong password today and decided I was going to keep a regular food diary there instead of just checking what I was eating day by day without logging in

once I logged in it showed me the weight I was at the last time I logged in on aug 29th, apparently I've lost 11lb since then

is this too much? I haven't felt like I've been starving myself.. I'm generally quite full throughout the day. all my estimations on livestrong calorie counter thing were guesswork though since I don't own a scales so I may have been fooling myself into thinking I was getting more calories each day than I actually was..

should I continue as I've been doing or should I try to add a couple of hundred calories a day on top of what i'm doing? I'm obviously thrilled with the result but since the general advice seems to be to aim for 1-2lb a week I'm a little worried the rate I'm at is a bit unhealthy and might end up being counter productive somehow?

I guess I'll have to buy a scales next week..

Sounds like you're doing fine !

Thats around 3 lbs a week which is nothing too dramatic.

Expect it to slow signifigantly as you approach your ideal weight.

yeah im mentally prepared for the inevitable slowdown. im already nearing my ideal weight though so maybe it'll just start slowing down soonish

at 178lb atm and probably aiming for around 150 so not too far to go

When I started shifting a lot of weight I was averaging 4lbs a week. Still doing the same exercise levels/food stuff and now its more like 2lbs a week. Its a scale thing, the bigger you are the easier it is to shift bigger numbers.

The more you have to lose, the faster the initial loss. Totally depends person to person.

if you're not starved and haven't noticed the weight loss day to day, you're probably doing ok.

Let common sense guide you :)

Yep, as said its more of a scale and relative thing,

I lost 50 - 60 lbs effortlessly over 12 - 18 months to what is taking me months to lose a pound or so now, as you reach your ideal weight it will slow up, you will of course need to adjust your calorie intake down again too.

I wouldn't say it's too much. Usually you lose more weight at the initial weight loss stage as some of it is water. As you get within 10 - 20 lbs of your goal weight 1 - 2 lbs a week will be perfect.
