    Hello,

I have been suffering with the above, for as long as I can remember but have only been to get it dealt with this year. My consultant has agreed to give me a cortisone injection, which I understand is not a solution but will hopefully provide some relief.

He explained the various surgical options, none of which he's keen on. My options were:
    - fusing the bones together which would take the pain away but would allow no movement whatsoever in the joint.
    - an orthotic (which has done nothing so far)
    - cutting off the bit of bone that juts out on top of my joint.

The consultant advised that I was too young for the first option.
The third option wasn't ideal because the bone grows back, however I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this kind of surgery. I'd appreciate hearing more. Thanks.
