Recommendation for Sports Physio in Waterford

    Hi all
    Just wondering if anyone can recommend a sports physiotherapist in Waterford to help me with muscle soreness during/after running?

    Posted this earlier but thread was closed so not looking for advice just a recommendation thanks;

    Hi all
    Hoping someone can advise me;
    Here's the background.
    I recently (4 weeks ago) started training for a 10 mile run I am doing in three weeks time. I am doing three runs a week, 1 approx 4/5 miles, 1 approx 4 miles but at a little faster pace with a bit of running fast up hills included and then one "long" run which I am increasing the distance of each week.
    Yesterday I did 8 miles in around 1 hour twenty.
    Anyway my question is this - a couple of weeks into training the groin of one leg would get sore abit into the run and would be sore for a while after the run but didn't get any worse. I would stretch after a run (although someone told me the other day that stretching a sore muscle is not a good idea). During the long run yesterday the groins on both legs got sore and one of my calves got very sore. So when I got home I didn't stretch at all, just walked around very slowly (limping like hell) until I loosened up abit.
    I put ice on my calf for a bit. But still sore today.
    Just wondering what is best to do - I usually do runs on tues, thurs and then long one on Sat. Should I skip the tues one this week and rest or is that too long between runs?
    I don't want to lose the stamina/fitness I've built up. It was frustrating yesterday as it was the soreness that slowed me down, not my lungs if you know what I mean!
    By the way - my aim for the run is just to run the whole way without stopping at a pace of around 10 min/mile.
    Sorry for rambling, basically just wondering if I should stretch/ice/rest/see a physio or what.
    Thanks!!
