Starts Thursday October 4th. Not sure if it ranks up there with the Aussie or UK series, but it's still an entertaining show.

Looking forward to this. Not quite as entertaining as the Australian series (which I think is the best masterchef) but I did enjoy it last year!

This is on tonight. Didn't see the last series, but heard the judges weren't great.

Masterchef Australia is my favourite masterchef, pretty spectacular all around.

    Serious crash and burn

Yeah, I like the format of the rounds and I like the judges. You have to record it so you can forward through the australian ad break link up bits.

It must be fairly boring for Nick and Dylan to sit there and watch the contestants cook for 30 minutes each.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,338 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

    Did she say "shít"
    Food looks good though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,089 ✭✭✭✭LizT

Poor girl looks like she's going to burst into tears.

Did I just see someone getting oxygen from a paramedic??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,338 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

Definitely "emotional". Wonder if you see people ahead of you not getting through?

Saw that too! Should be interesting to see what happens.

She should have had a double brandy before she went on to calm the nerves

Steak is not cooked, there is blue but that's bloody raw

Fair play to her coming back from that - she looked shook.

    She's gutted.

Dylan's Belfast accent is much stronger this year...

Blooming heck we 30 mins in with only 2 through

Just about to say that! No one is getting through.

Wonder if beans on toast would get me through?

They seem much tougher this year.

They must have to taste a load of rubbish... The elimination process must be so tedious and we only see the edited hour!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

Ooh that sea bream looks lovely!

Most of it's average home cooking in fairness. Sea bream looks good. Shocked at the raw steak.

    Like that chap fair play

There's quite a few round before they even get to this stage, a friend of mine went to the first set of auditions but didn't get through, I think that was actually in Cork and not Dublin.

I hate fish served with the head on it. A few getting through now

That fish looks delish :). Seems to be the way to go to get an apron

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

Jaysis and that wun thought she was in a hollywood movie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

See I don't see why previous contestants get back in

Why not! If they get through the process why not

After all nobody says you can't enter the olympics because you won last year...

And he's rejected yet again, that must be so disheartening

Jaysus, don't go to some of the countries I have dined in!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

This is the downside to allowing contestants return, in fairness two years in a row and still hasn't got it right

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 192 ✭✭superblu

    Poor owld devil

They wanted to do a chat

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,155 ✭✭✭✭John_Rambo

I'd say it was the producer or floor manager looking for a chat on camera...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,338 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

The salmon was raw, but he obviously cooks better than that at home, just didn't work on the show. I'd say he was pissed off and embarrassed and wanted to get out of there asap.

    Poor Stuart :(
