    103.1

    But this is kind of a pointless exercise, as most of that extra 3.1 I can't use. If I sold Tevez and Michu I'd lose about a million.

    I'm guessing it's because too many people were just trying to get the most valuable team, and skewing the transfer figures every week.

    Great to see it back. Missed it terrbly last year after finishing in the top 20 in the world the year before. Finished second in the world the year before that. :eek:

    Still managed to remain competitive in doing so.
    Currently at 103.9 with wildcard intact.

    Look at your game week history and add up the TC (transfer cost) column
    Team value 103.6

    Fletcher going up tonight will put me on 105m, despite Michu and Tevez both dropping. Tevez actually looks set to drop again, debating whether I should do a Tevez - Suarez swap...

    Lot of players going up this week. Team went up 0.5 last night and look set to go up another 0.8 before next GW. Expecting the following rises.

    Mata 0.2
    Michu 0.1
    Sterling 0.1
    Fletcher 0.1
    McAuley 0.1
    Nolan 0.1
    Begovic 0.1

    Ba, Baines and Clark could also go up. Players seems to be going up a lot faster this season? I'll be on 110m by Christmas at this rate.

    Not hugely important but could definitely come in handy towards the end of the season.

    104m with .2m in the bank.

    Have taken one 4 point hit.

    I honestly pay little attention to team value this season. I haven't once looked at that page that tells you when a players value is about to increase or decrease, I found last season knowing this stuff hindered my team selection - you should never pick a player or drop a player just because the masses are doing it. I just keep it simple and select/keep players based on how I think they'll score over the next several weeks (as long as their value isn't ridiculously overpriced). Doing unbelievably well this season as a result. Currently 1st in Ireland and 4th in the world.

    Can't argue with that, good work.

    I haven't been bitten in the ass yet though and have prob saved about 1m by making a couple of transfers early.

    What was your thinking behind bringing Carroll in and captaining him? Hasn't scored all season! Although Southampton are woeful so he could have ran riot...

    Had been watching a few of West Ham's games and Carroll had been excellent for them in the two he'd played prior to Saturday. Almost all of their attacks seemed to be based around him. Most strikers go through phases of goalscoring where they might score 5 goals in 6 games and then none in their next 3 or 4 etc. A major sign of a player entering their goalscoring cycle is if he's playing really well and coming close to scoring, which Carroll was. I just thought Southampton at home was the perfect fixture for him and that I would have had him at the beginning of his goalscoring cycle. It didn't happen, but at least he got an assist, and I still think there's a decent chance of him opening his account against Wigan next week and getting a few more in the coming weeks. It can be quite difficult to predict these cycles but I've always felt that I'm pretty decent at it.

    It was also playing on my mind that I was one of the only few to bring in and captain Jelavic at home to Southampton a few weeks ago, and he got two goals and an assist so I said I'd try it again with Carroll.

    I see what you mean by that.
    He'd be a lovely differential!

    Wigan and ManCity have been leaking goals this season!

    105.1 with 0.4 in the bank
    I've 102.7 spending money if I sold all players

    Inside top 120 in boards.ie league after a pretty shaky start.

    Two big mistakes have been an 8 point hit in GW 6 to bring in Baines, Ba, Pienaar and Fletcher and panicking after RVP went crazy against Southampton
    and playing my wildcard to get him in.

    4 of the players I had when the WC closed have since been sold.
    Both Pienaar and Fletcher have now also been sold.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,255 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

    103.3 with 0.6 mil in the bank. Was higher until last week when I wildcarded and lost value on the likes of Cashley Cole, Tevez and RVP.

    Also lost .3 mil on Pienaar this week.

    103.1 with 1.1 mil in the bank. I think I need to focus on points and stop focusing on value now.

    104.3 with 0.9 in the bank.

    I've paid no attention to it this year. I'm way ahead of what I was at this stage last year. Still have to take a points hit as well.

    £106.6m + £0.3 in the bank.

    Still convinced the prices are rising higher this season than any before.

    They are. Previously, if a player rose once in the GW, he needed double the NTI to achieve his next increment and triple for the following one.
    i.e. previous years (indicative NTIs)
    NTI: 29000 -> increase by 0.1
    after another 58000, he can rise again
    29000 + 58000 = 87000 -> increase by 0.1
    after another 87000, he gets his final GW rise
    87000 + 87000 = 174000 -> final increase by 0.1

    i.e. this year (indicative NTIs)
    NTI: 29000 -> increase by 0.1
    after another 29000, he can rise again
    29000 + 29000 = 58000 -> increase by 0.1
    after another 29000, he gets his final GW rise
    58000 + 29000 = 87000 NTI in GW -> final increase by 0.1

    So where a player previously needed >150,000 in a GW to increase by 0.3 (a fairly rare event), he now needs half that which is much more common.
    I've been in the top 10 most expensive teams in the world for 3 of the last 4 years (it wasnt tracked last year) and peaked at 2nd most expensive 2 years ago (119.6m) while still taking in well in excess of 2200 points. (the team that was most expensive had about 800 fewer points due to taking more hits).

    That was the case last year too. I think its a case of more players being aware of player values, knowing when to sell, websites like FISO and bandwagon jumping.

    Only 106.9 this year (105.4 if I remove everyone). Havent been paying as much attention to it as I only discovered the global table is back recently. I figured that it was gone for good last year so ignored that aspect of the game.
