    http://musicscene.ie/2012/09/conor-oberst-confirms-national-concert-hall-dublin-2013-show-for-tuesday-february-5th/

A fully seated gig in the national concert hall in Febuary. €24 is a steal too. No mention of who might play with him (Bright Eyes, Mystic Vally Band, Desaparecidos). I saw him in Germany with bright eyes in Summer 2011 and that was by no means a seated afair, it will be interesting to see what it's like.

Gotta say this is an excellent venue choice, fair play to the promoters.

A seated venue with no drink allowed in the auditorium means you won't get the usual stream of bar-trippers pushing in and out. It'll be quiet which should suit the songs, and it's a venue scalpers don't bother with in general so genuine fans have a decent chance of getting tickets. I'm not pushed about this gig as I haven't listened to Oberst in years, but I'd imagine for a lot of people (if Oberst is on form) this could be gig of the year.

    Very reasonable ticket price too.

letting as many fans as possible know about this as possible is important, dont want to see the touts make a killing. Can't wait for this gig

I've been listening to his music for 7 years now without ever getting the chance to see him live so really looking forward to this. It used to drive me nuts that he only ever seemed to play festivals in this country.

Anyone seen these for sale on their site?

Can't wait to see him play again

I swore I would boycott him (gigs and new albums) forever after he cancelled his Belfast gig a fews back after getting a more lucrative festival gig in Scotland.
Intend to stick to that. Shame really, as I used to be really into his stuff.

    The git.

Which browsers does this website actually work in because both Opera and IE 9 aren't going anywhere. Currently trying Chrome.

never ever use IE ever for anything

I find general rule of the thumb with ticket sites is they make it work with IE and then everything else is an afterthought. Seat selection was broke in Opera so I tried with IE and that didn't give me the fields for card details when I selected Visa. Chrome seems to be working but the site is taking a long time to respond.

    Edit: nope sales payment failed.

Im getting payment failed as well. Trying firefox and chrome. Id say the site is over loaded!

I don't wanna lose my seats

Communication timeout now. Right well I'm giving up. Might be better luck phoning the Box Office but I've to get to work. Doubt they'll be gone by the end of the day if the website is in the state it is in.

Failed in firefox and IE, a lot of tickets seem to be gone though looking at the map of venue. Lots of folk complaining on their fb page.

Timer at the top of the page show how long you have left to purchase the tickets in your basket

Only found out about this gig today by spotting this thread! - got tickets without problem on the nch site.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,778 ✭✭✭leaveiton

Tried getting them at 9 but it wouldn't work, managed to get some just there though! Got row N of the stalls, thought I'd end up a lot worse than that so I'm happy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,454 ✭✭✭EyesClosed

They just rang me again to process payment, seems it still won't work, doesn't bother me though have my seats

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,304 ✭✭✭oneofakind32

My card was charged 3 time this morning and I still have 0 seats fully booked. I was told that a hold was put on my card and that it should fall off at midnight. They said they would hold the seats for me till 2moro. Now I am annoyed!!

Just booked my tickets, so excited now! I've been a fan since 2006 and didn't think I'd ever get to see Conor live. I didn't get a chance to book them yesterday so I ended up with Row T but I'm fairly near the centre so it should hopefully be okay (never been to the NCH before). None of my friends are fans of Conor's so I shall have to coerce someone into going with me!

This one appeals to me a lot more than hearing some of his solo stuff.
    Could be a cracker!

Same here, saw him at EP i think a few years ago, was excellent.
Really looking forward to this, and looking forward to Simone Felice also

Good venue. I'm bringing the girlfriend to the show, not much of a fan myself but good music is good music!

Finally a chance to see Conor outside a festival or Monsters Of Folk performance ! Thought that was a very good gig. A nice mix of Bright Eyes, solo, rarer and new tracks. The couple of new ones sounded very good. Oberst seemed suitably relaxed yet at times mad off the wall (in a good way) chatty and in all round good form. Crowd were respectful yet enthusiastic the venue was very suitable with crystal clear sound from the off.. Enjoyed Simone Felice's support act too.. Less chemically inhibited than I've seen him before. All round damn good night...

Anyone catch the name of the violinist? Loved her.

    Samantha Stone i think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Simi Stone is her more popular alias, she seems to have done quite a bit. I was impressed with her too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,210 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

She was in The Duke & The King with Simone Felice. Also his significant other at some point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 172 ✭✭Tree Scape

Simi Store, She was quite ill recently I think (must run in the band), good to see her in fine voice.
She plays with Simone in The Duke and the King - saw them in A2 few years ago and very good.
Loved Conors performance-great gig, highlight was CApe Canaveral and the song in the encore that they all sang-anyone know the name of it?
