    Major injury problems

Is Eoin Griffin injured again? Poor lad. I suppose he's at that age.

There is potential in that side. They might find the going tough, but hopefully they can learn from the experience.

Ouch, wouldn't say the team doesn't look strong, but certainly I haven't seen most of those players play before, let alone heard of some of them. Given the quality of the Connacht squad this season, that must be a fairly weakend team.

Glasgow have looked like they're building on being a pretty solid team from last season, with a couple of narrow defeats and a good win against the Ospreys in the Liberty last weekend, I'd fear for Connacht in this one. Hate to be pesamistic, but I think Connacht would do well to get a losing bonus point here and even that I think would be a optomistic goal. :(

Not bad( at least player's are playing in their strongest positions)
But weakened a Tad and not much on the bench when the inevitable 65min clearing of decks required.
Reply hope Jarvis plays well and gets a real chance of that 10 Jersey.
Thought loxton was injured ie serious lack of game time at any level!

George's strongest position is definitely NOT second row. Can't understand starting him there and keeping Swifty on the bench. Unfortunately I can see a BP win for Glasgow from this one...

    Ok my bad!
    missed that .
aside from George looks like a team for the future but not tomorrow unfortunately especially the back line very inexperienced at this level and i know that the warriors are not toulouse but they are organised and defend well and as proven this season already they can take their scores especially VTM.
lets hope that back line gels very quickly.
    trying to be positive!
    Connacht Abu!

its a very strange team. take into account with all the confusion with the ERC and the English premiership over the future of the heineken cup one thing is very clear. Connacht will not be in the heineken cup next year unless they merit it by means of position in the rabo pro12 table or performance in this years heineken cup. getting into the hec will not happen on the back of the performances of the other irish provinces anymore. as such they simply must take points where points are possible to be taken and glasgow should be seen as a place where they can go and take points. i don't believe in saving players for the so called big game against leinster next week. we simply need points in glasgow and with no disrespect to the proposed team there simply is not enough depth to even hope for a losing bonus point. So thats fine if players are injured and cant play, I just hope they are not being rested. And if they are all seriously injured then it looks like those turning up early to the clan terrace next week should maybe bring a pair of boots and togs with them as they may be needed

Yes they can the format of the competition is not due to end until after the 2013/2014 (?) competition.

i suspect that before the end of this season the erc will have to make some accommodations to the english teams. and the ability of a fourth team to qualify for the hec out of ireland having finished way down the rabo pro12 has to be high on the list of cribs that the english premiership would have with current format

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,071 ✭✭✭✭wp_rathead

this game could get really messy..
Glasgow -15 is quiet generous by bookies

fingers crossed we keep scoreline respectable

Yes after the 2013/2014 HC, the negotiations under way right now are for the 2014/2015 onward. The format for qualification will not change until then. It may well be the case from 2014/2015 onward that we can't qualify this way, but not now.

I can see Van der Merwe having a couple tries tonight especially against the inexperienced Loxton.

Also terrified for the lineout against Kellock, seen how shabby it's been the last couple nights.

The ref thinks the same too. He's asking for them to see if there's a change shirt for half time.

Yeah, too similar for tv anyway, Ref just said it to the touch judge to see if something can be done at halftime

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭OldRio

Why are both teams playing the same colours?
Did I hear ref say they will change at half time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,768 ✭✭✭eyeball kid

    Any score yet folks?

Sorry to keep asking every week but not in Ireland at the moment and I'm useless at finding streams that work. Thanks.

    3-0 glasgow

why did the ref allow the game to start with the same colours

8-0 to Glasgow, Marmion had his clearance kick charged down, actually thought that Duffy got taken out in the air before that, but could have been a close call.

Never like Rolland over Connacht games.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,592 ✭✭✭GerM

Just when I thought Marmion was having a decent season. He's having a stinker tonight. Several blocked down kicks and a pass Peyton Manning would be proud of.

FFS 8-0 now. Bad start again this season.

In fairness that was created by Duffys up and under that he couldn't chase having pulled his hamstring and then a lovely offload on the far wing. I'd be more concerned with the silly turnovers due to poor support.

That has to be a try....

    Glas 15
    Conn 7

    Keep it respectable Connacht.

15-7 now. Rolland needed to get onto the TMO via mobile. Seems to be problems with his comm gear.

Jarvis lands monster penalty, 15 10 halftime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,803 ✭✭✭pappyodaniel

Still in the contest. They need to start well in the second half. An early score would be positive.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,592 ✭✭✭GerM

Monster kick from Jarvis. Hopefully they stick with him and let him develop as their outhalf. Would be nice to have another IQ option at 10! Already has a huge boot and only turned 22. He's a very big bloke too for a 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,768 ✭✭✭eyeball kid

Who got the try for Connacht? Sounds like they are still in it at least. A lot better than 15-0.
