Getting the abs working

    Hey all,

Curious here about specifically improving abs strength or maybe more correctly balance between abs and back. Started lifting properly about 5/6 months ago to build strength and lose weight. Both have gone well and have improved bench, squat, deadlift a lot. Probably a bit to go before I'm lifting what I should be able to but happy with progress.

Question is I'm not really doing any work on abs specifically and wondering if I should be. Example of why I question is I struggle to really feel them when doing something like a plank on a ball and the lower back will give out first. I'm staying away from sit ups, crunches, etc as I understand they will more likely exacerbate problems. Any recommendations on how to target them or at least be sure I'm getting balanced core development. Not sure if this is a bit too ambiguous but interested to hear people's opinions.

    Doc.
