It's a toss up for me at the moment - Tevez at home to Arsenal and Hazard at home to Stoke.

If I had Berbs I'd probably give it to him though...

That's odd, I can see them.

    Mods, please fix!

Is Berba really a good option for captain ? Fulham are generally crap away from home .

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 387 ✭✭Ace0x9

I'd suggest Carlos Tevez. He's a man on a mission.
3 goals and 4 assists in 4 games. Almost guaranteed to get another one or two against Arsenal.

Then there's Bale at home vs QPR.
    1. QPR's back line looks a bit shaky even with Cesar at the back.
    2. Bale seems to have picked up some sort of form in the last match (From a FPL manager's perspective), you cannot deny his goalscoring/assisting potential.
    3. It's Tottenham at home. Can't really say much about this but what I do know is that home games give a massive confidence boost to the home team irrespective of the quality of opposition they're against.
It might just be Bale's lucky day. You never know.

I don't understand the point, "they simply cannot deal with Defoe and Bales double threat?

Bales form in the last match was still poor, if you're receding to the fact that he scored a goal then I suppose that's something to hang on to and perhaps might give him the boost to do better in his next game but you can't hide the fact that he was mediocre.

If any Spurs should be captain and thats a stretch is Defoe.

    Hazard for me

I thought Bale was poor in the last match, he kept coming infield a lot which doesn't suit him as his strength is his pace and power down the wing, he was very lucky to get the 3 BP's and that's coming from someone who has him in his team.

Hazard for me this week as I can see Stoke struggling at Stamford bridge.

It's not just the fact that he scored a goal; it's also the fact that he isn't as bad a player as he's shown us to be at the start of the season. He will pick up on form soon. Bale and Defoe do pose a collective threat (I'm referring to their previous seasons as well)

Defoe, however, might have scored goals on a regular basis but if you notice the FPL points he's received this season despite the goals scored (All in single digits for some reason) .. he might not be the logical choice to rack up some heavy points.
I'm no Spurs fan but Bale seems to have a higher probability of scoring in double digits.

Hazard for me but that could swing to torres depending on how tomorrow night's match versus Juve goes.

(I've no spurs or newcastle players)

The 'Steve Bould' effect (would have been 4cs's from 4 but for that Scezny howler). All the same, you always expect City to score at home

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Yep, I'd be surprised if Arsenal can keep out City, and Tevez seems to be at the heart of everything they do lately.

    Same here.

Hazard currently has the armband, although I worry about rotation now with the CL starting.

Who put the poll together, any chance you can let us know how its looking atm? Going for Hazard right now, but temptation to put it on Tevez is still strong! Reckon its going to be a last minute flip of the coin this week!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Not sure whats up with the poll, the mods will fix it when one of them drops by. I've sent a PM also so should be sorted soon.

Hazard winning by a landslide at the minute

Cheers Rory, suprised to see Bale in second place  admittedly he has the potential to come good in any game but so far this season its yet to be seen and i would think Tevez and RVP (unfortunately as a Liverpool fan) offer much better prospects!

Not surprising at all, granted hes in great form however they are playing a top 4 side that have only conceded one goal and IMO tevez is a big rotation risk this weekend. Wouldnt be surprised if mancini went with aguero and ballotelli for this game.

Between Hazard, HBA and Tevez for me.

At the moment it's on Hazard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

I never thought I'd be saying this but could Van Persie actually be a differential as captain? I can understand the reluctance to shy away from the fixture (thinking of benching Rafael) but he's still worth serious consideration. He got a brace for Arsenal at Anfield last season after all.

It would be a gamble. But one that could pay off. Liverpool-Man U games can go any way. I don't feel comfortable with that choice myself (i'm going for Hazard), Liverpool impressed me against Sunderland, and they should be the fresher of the two going in to the game (United played full-strength in a tough game last night; i expect Liverpool to put out a second string side this evening)

Think i'm going to go for HBA over Hazard due to rotation risk. Have a feeling Mata might get a start despite Hazard's great league form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭xerces

Tough choice this week, I have Hazard captain at the moment, but the rotation risk might make me pass it on to Tevez. I don't want another bad week for my captain after the situation with RVP last week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,264 ✭✭✭✭manual_man

Stoke rb Andy Wilkinson suspended for 3 games with immediate effect, making the case for Hazard stronger now imo

I'm going with A.Cole (c) this week with RVP (vc).

Have Hazard as captain. Thinking of switching to RVP though.

Shows how often the mods check in on us! I PM'd them 3 days ago asking for the change, and asked earlier in the thread. Not to worry anyway, almost 100 have voted and Hazard is still the runaway leader. I'm still surprised at Tevez. I can't see Arsenal keeping a clean sheet at City, and Tevez has been pretty central to City's goals this season.

maybe ppl are worried about tevex getting roatated, surely him at home is a better choice than rvp away to liverpool

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,094 ✭✭✭SpaceCowb0y

If i had Ba i would definitely pick him! Didnt play last night so he should start this weekend surely and at home to Norwich has to be a tasty fixture! Looking like im going to go with Hazard but i have a horrible feeling he wont start and will come on for the last 20 mins just like RVP and fuck my weekend right up again!

Id love to see out of everybody thats voted for Hazard how many also went with RVP last weekend!

i don't buy the tevez worry. i mean it's five days between the Madrid and Arsenal matches, he's been by far their best striker. I'd rate him as 99% to start. Hazard is actually more of a genuine worry, with only 3 days between matches..

Might go with Torres or RVP. Torres has looked ****e lately, but Hazard is subject to roatation and I heard Sturidge is injured so he gets 90mins. Tevez I think will only play 60-70mins and Aguero will come in. Liverpool will up there game against Utd, but I still think RVP will score.

I think it's incorrect to say Hazard is subject to rotation. He hasn't been rotated once yet and Chelsea had 3 games in a week in GW1 and GW2.

Id love to see out of everybody thats voted for Hazard how many also went with RVP last weekend!

The last few seasons have shown that gambling regularly on your captain choice is a -EV move long term. The correct tactic is to go with the popular vote. This isn't always fun though is it :)

id say even if mancini is going 2 play 2 strikers tevez will still get the nod...

if oscar had stayed fit id be worried a bit more about rotation, i recon both tev and hazard will play, but who to pick:eek:

Played my wildcard at the start of this week, and just brought in Defoe for Berba there. (had berba since 6.9 but Defoe going up tonight too) Have the armband on Defoe at the moment, hoping for a good return and a bit of a differential!

Why no HBA on the list? Scored in his last two home games for Newcastle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 756 ✭✭✭Who_8_Paul?

    Or Aguero...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,970 ✭✭✭mufcboy1999

bale or rvp for me... seeking a diffeential and for once rvp is !... I think bale could be a good choice this week after getting on the score sheet last week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,734 ✭✭✭Fowler87

Weary Hazard wont start but will stick with him anyhow as he will tear up Stoke if he does. But will be sick if he comes on for a 1 pointer as HBA is a close 2nd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,844 ✭✭✭carlcon

It's Torres for me. He's a good differential, without actually being a differential, IMO.

RVP is on my mind too though. Can see United scoring two or three.
