    Hi all.

I do a 5 day workout every morning before work.

    It's mainly free weight training.

Before i got to the gym i eat a 2 egg omelette (including yokes)

I also have an omelette at the weekend.

Just wondering with the latest research on eggs and cholesterol, am i eating too many eggs?

Can anyone give me other protein based breakfast ideas?

    Thank you.

    No.

The link between consuming dietary cholesterol and any negative health effects is very weak, actually meaningless in my opinion. A lot of the scary headlines you see are a result of a) mis-interpreted science b) lazy/uniformed journalism.

Unless you have some autoimmune problems or have gall bladder trouble, or something of that nature, there is absolutely no reason to avoid eggs.

In fact, a lot of people could considerably improve their health by increasing their egg consumption.

There is nothing more sickening than to hear someone scare others off a delicious egg and bacon breakfast by going on about the cholesterol content of the meal and the sinister consequences of consuming it, whilst then going on to wax lyrical about their own 'healthy' breakfast of wholegrain toast and orange juice. Aggghhhhh!

If all of this sounds new to you, I would seriously advise you to go do some research for yourself. Educating yourself on nutrition is one of the best things you can do for your health. I can'e emphasise that enough.

Here are some good starting points:

Doesn't the latest research on eggs and cholesterol show that eggs have the good sort so eat lots and that the previously thought theory on eggs being bad was mistaken ?
