I know this place is full of questions related to what we should buy for others, but I'd like to know what you hope to receive this year?

I'll start - A Google Nexus 7 (16GB), that's all, no stocking fillers, just that and I'd be made up.

I hope my Mrs sees this post.

    Only 102 days left....

I would love a kitchen stand mixer or a voucher for Amazon so I can get the little bits and pieces I want to get.

I wouldn't say no to a sun holiday either actually. Or a winning lottery ticket.

Haha! Women are easy to please!?
If someone bought me a nice candle they'd be getting a wallop on the head with it! :pac:

I am not really hoping for anything specific this year- so will be happy with anything, I hope! :)

Think if what her interests are and start there, don't go for generic girly gifts unless you are sure she likes that stuff!

I am very sensitive to scents so candles, lotions, perfumes are pretty much a miss for me, and I don't wear PJs!

Not sure what I want for Christmas! I'm always moving around the place so don't like to get much stuff cause I end up leaving it all behind :P But I don't want to ask for cash either....

Its a tough one! Maybe a nice briefcase or voucher for a suit, I'm all grown up now :pac:

This year all I want is money. I don't want things. Just money that I can spend on drink. Probably have it all gone on New Years Eve!

I'd like a nice knitted scarf or cowl and some cozy socks. I always like those Soap & Glory gift sets at Boots.

    Realistic presents:
    - James Bond DVD/Blu Ray boxset
    - New external hard drive
    - Clothes
    - FIFA 13
    - Maybe a bike to cycle to work on (I feel like a 10 year old asking for that :pac: but I am wasting a lot of money on petrol and parking when I don't live too far away from work)
    - A couple of parts for my car

    Unrealistic present:
    - iPhone 5
    - Some large (i.e. expensive) parts for my car :P

I don't want anything too big just some blu rays, perfume and candles :)

I have a bit of an eclectic wish list this year! I always give my hubby a list of 5/10 things and he chooses from that. That way I get something I want, he doesn’t get stressed and I still get the element of surprise :D

    Some of this years list:

A pair of flat, knee high, brown boots
    A soup maker
A Fortnum and Mason tea infusor with an assortment of tea (cutest thing ever – it’s actually tiny in reality, just big enough for one cup!)
    http://www.fortnumandmason.com/p-8468-golden-leaf-tea-infuser.aspx
    A pair of M&S jammies
    Urban Decay Afterglow blusher
    A bright blue coloured blazer

Bit random I know, but a lot of it is stuff I either wouldn’t, or can’t afford to buy for myself.

I just don't know what i want. Last year I wanted loads of cosmetics and the year before that I got a new camera. But I don't want anything this year. I don't even want money. But I would like something nice to open on Christmas day.

Doing Secret Santa this year for the first time, and have been asked to draw up a shortlist of things I might like that someone else could buy for me, and I haven't a clue what I'd like at the moment.

So, instead of asking for ideas on what to get for someone else, I'm wondering what do YOU want for Christmas from Santa! Maybe I might like the same is what I'm thinking...

"Santa" will have about €100 to spend on me :D I'm Male, early 30's, and like my gadgets... suggestions please!

Apart from gadgets, what other interests do you have? Music, films, books, computers, sports etc? Might help people suggest something. :)

What I would like this year: pyjamas, slippers, a good book, maybe some cosmetics. I'm easy to please! Bonus points for a running jacket/gloves, Body Shop creams, an ice cream maker, a watch, fluffy socks, Kenzo Amour perfume...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 795 ✭✭✭SQ2

Throw in your wants sure, you never know who might be reading this thread!

Not much in to books, have a few already in the queue to read from previous Birthdays and Christmas pressies.

Music and Film I'd prefer not to receive as eh... I like to "get" them myself :)

Sports have me nobbled at the moment so not playing, but love Rugby. Computer-y gadgets would get a thumbs up, play the xbox once in a blue moon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Daisy78

    I'm asking for..........

A cloche hat a la downtown abbey in raspberry pink from Kilkenny or accessorise.
Another hoodie from American apparel (very cosy for Xmas day).

I'm treating myself to a new cocktail ring from Rhinestones bit pricy but:rolleyes:

It really depends on what your girlfriend is into......

Baking then Maybe a voucher for cookery lessons from say cooks academy or somewhere like deco bake if they are into baking. Or maybe some nice cosmetics, maybe Origins (try debenhams or clears). If she is into jewellery you can get some lovely rings from pandora, they do simple sterling rings with individual birth stones which are really nice.

I'd like to see under the christmas tree :
    • iPad mini (Don't really mind which memory or colour)
    • The Walking Dead Book : Road to woodbury or The rise of governer
    • Possibly a gift set of lynx or some razers.
Most importantly, a happy family :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,166 ✭✭✭carolinespring

I don't really want anything this year, of course I would love a couple of small things to open on Christmas day but don't need or want anything major.

My husband and family keep asking me what I want and I am having major trouble coming up with anything so after many hours of thinking about it I have come up with the following. Would be happy with anyone of them and would not be in the least upset if I didn't get any of them.

Tom Ford's Black orchid or Chanel's Coco perfume.

    Some good books.

    Downton Abbey box set

    Curling tongs

    Charm for my bracelet.

Socks without toe seams - very fussy about my socks and hate seams across my toes.

    Nice hand cream.

I've told himself I don't want anything.....but if he really insists,I'd love a set of speakers for my I Pod :)

I get the same things, mostly, every year and I always look forward to them! A rhodia yearly planner in large, a few bottles of ink, a matching handbag and purse, hat/gloves/scarf and a few books from my parents and siblings. My birthday is around Christmas so they're double presents.
My OH and I usually get each other jammies etc from m&s, a jokey gift and a 'surprise' taken from an Amazon wishlist. This year I'll get her the makeup brush set, some different cosmetics and the makeup bag she has on her wishlist. I'm hoping for a new iPad case and a jumper.

I know what I'm getting from my mam - money. Unsure from dad but usually perfume and jewelery which keeps me happy. The amount of perfume I get over the Christmas season keeps me stocked until the following Christmas. At this point in the year, I'm just around running out. :P

From the money, I know what I'm going to get myself: shoes and a couple of jumpers. Might see something else over the next few weeks to buy.

So what is on your wishlist for this Christmas?
What do you think you're get?

    My list is sort :)
    1. kindle
    2. a voucher for a dinner-show
    3. a wellness weekend

I'd love if someone got me a tenor/baritone ukulele. I think I'm getting money though, so I'll buy it for myself in the New Year :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 208 ✭✭ThunderApple

My family asked already and I said I'd love some money for a new tattoo. But as much as I know, some of my senior relatives don't support this kind of presents, I'm getting a bunch of useless stuff like Christmas mugs, tasteless clothes and so on.
I said my mom to try to explain all the grannies and aunties that it's just the waste of time and money and there are the things I really want but I'm not sure they will listen. They still think I'm 5 years old. :D
I'd also be happy with gift cards for cloth stores and video games vouchers like paysafecard or just a gift card for a games store.
All the other important things... Well, I already have them :)
Do you get unwanted gifts? What do you do with them?

I've love to wake up on Christmas morning to have a long garden with a few giraffes strolling around in it; munching on the tops of tall wavey trees.

Or someone to organise a few days in Paris in April for me somewhere old fashioned & lovely

    Otherwise nothing in particular.
Some strawberry flavour chocolates maybe - yum. Lidl/Aldi do lovely ones : )

I dont want or need anything.

The smile on my daughters face as she ripping open all of Santas presents on Christmas morning, and the company, love and support of my absolutely amazing girlfriend is what will do it for me.

That is something that no amount of money in the world can ever buy.
