It's been six months since our last tournament and I think we are due another one :D

We did this a few years ago and it was right craic. We have a few old faces and a lot of new faces. If you have suggestions for competitors, PM them to me :)

Rules: Only non human contestants allowed. Straight knock out with the possibility of wild cards later on.

First to 6 wins or whoever leads after 24 hours. After round 1 all match ups will be chosen at random.

Please give a reason for your vote, it could be because you liked or were scared more by a character and not necessarily who would win in a one on one, and remember it's only a bit of fun,

    Ok, lets play biggrin.png

    There can be only one.

    Round 1 Battle 1

Draven to fly past Jason without breaking a sweat. Jason is used to facing people running scared from him who only try to fight when cornered. Draven also has the ability to absorb a level of punishment Jason is used to absorbing himself.

I'm gonna go with Jason, Hockey Mask and Machette wins everytime!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,394 ✭✭✭DakotaYoda

Much prefer original The Crow movie, and soundtrack!, to the Friday the 13th stuff. However I have to vote Jason here. The bird is too big a weak spot... Jason would have it impaled on something metal in short order.

    Good play Dolenz.

    2-1 to Jason

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,169 ✭✭✭RiderOnTheStorm

it has to be the Crow (the orig) .... he is Bruce Lee's son FTW !

    2-2

Jason in my opinion. Machete is a fairly good choice and the mask should give very limited
    protection.

Jason because well he's a badass

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,559 ✭✭✭Daisy M

The crow for me too simply because I loed the movie.

I am so glad this is back, thanks micky!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

Don't know what happened with the pic, it is meant to be, of course the original Crow.

    4-3 to Jason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,069 ✭✭✭Tzar Chasm

    Jason FTW

The crow has too big a weaknss, to quote teh original film
"Caw Caw, Bang Bang, Oh Fnck"

Jason seems to be utterly unkillable.

that said I'm only considering a fight situation, in a hunker down and hide situation I'd probably pick the emo rockstar over the proven psychopath

I'd go with the Crow, Jason would need to figure out the whole killing of the bird lark and I don't think he'd have it figured out before he was chopped into little itty bits.

    Crow's brains beat Jason's brawn.

    5-4 to Jason.

One more vote and Jason takes it.

    Jason.

He scared me when I was young, because his victims would run from him and just be walking along, taking his time, all patient like, and he'd still kill them, and gruesomely, too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

    Jason takes it.

    Next battle up shortly.

    Pinhead (Hellraiser)

    CandyMan (Candyman)

NB: This is one on one, Pinhead can't call in any of the Cenobites.

No pain, no gain! Pinhead, also his pizza's are TEH awesome!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 495 ✭✭ChaseThisLight

    Pinhead.

I watched Candyman recently, and he's not as scary as I remember him being - in fact, he was really lame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,065 ✭✭✭Kash

    Pinhead. Hands down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

Pinhead points in the right direction with a 3-0 lead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,394 ✭✭✭DakotaYoda

No question - Pinhead. No allies needed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,069 ✭✭✭Tzar Chasm

    Candyman
    Candyman
    Candyman
    Candyman

Someone else can say it the fifth time

Pinhead didn't get truly evil til somewhere in the third film and ultimately degraded into a pastiche of himself

    Candayman :p

    4-1 to Pinhead

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 546 ✭✭✭gufnork

Candyman. Pinhead looks the part but I suspect he's actually a bit of a woos in reality.

... and Candyman's got blood on his hook already. That seals it surely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,560 ✭✭✭✭Kess73

    Pinhead.

Too much physical power and way too much supernatural power for a low grade back from the dead hack and slash scare merchant like Candyman.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

    Pinhead takes it, 5-2

    Next battle up shortly

    Round 1 Battle 3

Battle of the "you look Familiar?"

    Predator (Predator)

    v

    T-800 (Terminator)

    borg-terminator1.jpg

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,394 ✭✭✭DakotaYoda

I vote Terminator. Tough battle but the T-800's thermal vision would render the Predators cloaking tech irrelevant, and they are pretty much stealth based. In addition the T-800 is stronger, tougher, and he has witty lines like "Your clothes, give them to me." How can you beat that?

The Terminator for me as well. There's no risk of infection and he doesn't need sleep.

    Arnie hunts humans
Predator hunts multiple species including the aliens from HR Giger's imagination and hell, they even breed them specifically to hunt!

    Predator!

    +1

    T-800 for me as well.

Terminator, definitely. For all the reasons stated above plus the fact that unless something catastrophic append, he's capable of repairing any damage done.

Predator is also awesome, but met his natch in this round!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

    4-1 to T-800

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 495 ✭✭ChaseThisLight

    Dakota put it perfectly.

    T-800.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,559 ✭✭✭Daisy M

Terminator would have this one he is indestructible!! (almost)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

    Wow, Pred is dead baby.

Gets his alien ass handed to him.

Arnold takes it by a whooping 6-1

    Next battle up soon.

    Van Helsing (Van Helsing)

tough call, but i'm going with Riddick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,560 ✭✭✭✭Kess73

Riddick for me. Just seems to have far more going for him in this clash than the Hugh Jackson version of Van Helsing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,394 ✭✭✭DakotaYoda

Not too sure on this one... I'm leaning Van Helsing as he could notice Riddick's special goggles and get them off of him. If he can do that he could use that vamp sunlight bomb to stun him and gain the advantage.

But I'm not sold on that as Riddick is a bad man. Still - I'll go w/ my first thought. Van Helsing wins.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 40,537 CMod ✭✭✭✭ancapailldorcha

Hmm... I'd reckon Riddick is superior to Van Helsing in almost every regard but he's not exactly the type of character you'd want as a partner so I'm voting Van Helsing.

is Van Helsing 'more' than human tho?

Riddick is fairly quick and savage with those curved blades

    Riddick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

Yeah he is certainly more then human.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 495 ✭✭ChaseThisLight

Van Helsing. Riddick is badass and all, but he's also a bad man and if he lost his shades he'd be screwed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,761 ✭✭✭✭degrassinoel

    (not a vote)

Technically speaking, wasn't stoker's description of van helsing, a much older man than is portrayed by hugh jackman?

    Good info here

My understanding of the character was, he didn't age like most people and was old but didn't age like normal humans.

Not 100% convinced Riddick is a bad guy, but it doesnt matter if he is. Would he beat VH? Yea ..... would the world be better with Riddick instead of VH? not sure .... But I got to vote Riddick, as he is bad-ass and will get the job done (even if it means leaving me behind!)
