    Hi everyone. Sample scenario:
In an area where the maximum rent limit per week for single person sharing is 48.75 euro p/w.
If you managed to get a room for 48.75 per week, would you only receive 18.75 euro per week rent allowance because of the rule of each person having to pay minimum 30 euro a week themselves, or does that 30 euro rule apply to all new applicants or just some??
Cheers to anyone that can answer.

It was announced in Budget 2012 that the minimum contribution towards rent would increase. From 1 January 2012 the minimum contribution by single tenants is €30 (an increase of €6 per week). Couples pay a minimum of €35 per week.

Thank you for your reply. What I am still not sure about though is the term single person has to pay minimum of 30 euro towards their rent.
Is this just for a single person living alone, or does it also apply to a single person in shared accommodation?
