TV3 could do with a HD channel for sport.

Just noticed that this is a re run of the 2011 minor football final.

I wonder how often it happens that two finalists in one code also meet in the other code the same or the next year

Only for the lucky penalty we got from a goalkeeping error we could be in serious trouble here.

Dublin seem to be all over them ok, but its still early enough.

We are looking very good. Alot depends on how each team come out in the second half

Dublin far far better. minors can change in the blink of an eye but it will have to take some change for Tipperary to come back into this. We are second to everything. We've scored nothing from play

I really hope William Maher has a plan for the second half. We dont seem to want it as much as Dublin. Dublin to be fair to them suffered heartbreak last year so its understandable they might have the bit between the teeth this year. We are playing like our seniors. Full of self entitlement and no work rate to go with it. I know they are under 18 years of age but the hard fact is you have to earn your corn in this game. Dublin have kept us in this game to be honest

Opening up for Tipp in the second half. Missed chance from Tadhg Gallagher there. Sean Ryan has had a big impact.

They could be about to pay us back for last years football final :)

Tossy Hamill brilliant for Tipp. Ref blowing all the time and not letting the game flow. A real pedant. A nervy 7 minutes ahead

1st time in a while that Dublin didn't reply instantly to a Tipp score.

Hate The Fields of Athenry bring sung.

    Well done TV3. Missed that.

Sweet God but can ref's just not play the game without playing for the draw. 4 steps isn't overcarrying.

Are you at the game ?

The move wasnt covered on the TV!

There were a lot of free ins for Tipp, that werent.

Considering the low number of scores from play by Tipp, they can consider that getting out of jail.

TV3 commentary was shocking. Jamesy must have been talking into a bin there as i couldn't hear him!

I'm at the game and it really looked like the ref kept us in the game, Jesus we can't play that bad again... We were rubbish in the first half.... Wat was it like on tv?

From a goon who never played hurling I think ye got lucky with the draw there but can only improve.

Id say your looking at €20. €15 if your a student/OAP.

1-2 from play is shocking in all honesty. Costello for Dublin is a class act as is young Boland and the two corner forwards. Winters is quite amazing to be playing considering what he has overcome to be such a pivotal player for Dublin. Cant wait for the replay.

Thanks all (I missed the replay by the way). Tv3s coverage just awful. There were lots of dodgy reffing decisions though. Tipp will have to up that 1-2 from play.

Cormac Costello had a cracker of a game.

Exactly as you described. Terrible first half. Bit of improvement in the second. Thank god we are still in it.

Very critical of the way the ref willingly blew for every little niggle on either side. Never let it flow. Tipps forward was one on one with the goalkeeper at one stage having been played through and the ref blew the whistle having spotted a foul on the lad who'd played the forward in. No common sense

Shocking refereeing in that match. Gave Dublin nothing apart from that dodgy free right at the end. Dubs deserved that though seeing as he rode them the whole game. 1-11 from frees and twice as many frees for Tipp tells you all you need to know. Replay on the 30th of September according to Hogan Stand.

I was hoping the senior final wouldn't be a draw. Would've loved one last day out, preferably down the country, with the Dubs this year.

Tipp coming in for alot of criticism in my area for their performance. Bit harsh in a way because they are only young lads. Whether nerves or cockiness or a bit of both got the better of them on the day i dunno.

Tipp were poor last Sunday and we are very lucky to still be in with a chance of an All Ireland title after scoring 1-2 from play in 60 minutes. I am sure that Tipp are capable of better, but I suspect that we have been over rating this team since they beat Waterford. They looked very good that night, but have not repeated that form since.

Agreed. The main problem i have with the team as it is is, they can't or won't shoot for points from distance. They continually try working ball into goal scoring positions and thus this makes setting up to defend against them easier imo.

The night against Waterford they got points from out the field and this wuthdrew the Wd defense leaving space inside. Whether this can be sorted in 2 1/2 weeks is debatable, i hope they can.

Credit to the Dublin team, they can mix it well both in the physical & skill stakes. They were excellent last Sunday but there must be a fear within the camp that maybe they left it behind them.

Funny that you should mention this, apparently young Hamill was throwing up in the dressing room before hand and it was put down to nerves etc. but got very weak after the game and was hospitalised for a time, turns out he had gotten an insect bite on the Saturday. Ronan Maher apparently was struggling with an injury also and only passed a fitness test in Dublin that morning, and really apart from them the other 4 backs were very good and Midfield did ok, agree with others that the decision making at times was terrible, I have seen alot ot these guys play with their clubs and they are all capable of putting the ball over the bar from 50 plus yards as Dublin were doing.

But at the end of the day they are only 17 and 18 they will learn from the experience and at least they have an opportunity to put it right.

Wow jesus i was impressed with young Hamill as it was but based on that story he is an absolute legend to go out and play as he did
