This might be a longshot but it might just work for those of you that still record of the TV using vcrs or the like. I've just added the BBC red button channels to my other channels using the frequency 11954 H 27500 2/3. Currently on channel 6715 there is F1 racing and it says at the bottom of the screen coming up MNF NFL etc etc. Whether or not it will be on this channel or not, we'll have to wait and see but I'm pretty sure it will be on one of these. I know you cant sky+ on the other channels but at least you can if you have a vcr. A word of warning though make sure your sky+ box is set up not to auto shut off after a certain amount of time being idle.

Has anyone a sky sat plugged straight into their tv? Is red button channel on it? Wat it called?

It will probably be on BBCi 1 but they only transmit 5 interactive channels AFAIK.

Not particularly no - some real good ones lined up, its prime time in the states so they'll have some good ones lined up for the bigger audiences same as they have for the Sunday night prime time games

that's the schedule for this year

Would it have killed them to throw a couple of guys taking on it?

Don't understand why sky didn't take it. Surely they could have out bid BBC

It really is terrible trying to watch it on the red button.

A huge step backwards for American Football fans in this countery and the uk. not being able to dvr the games means that most won't see much if any MNF this year at all.

The quality of matchups on mnf has decreased in the past few years with the SNF and TNF games taking a lot of the prime games, but it's still a nationally televised game in the US and would be of great interest over here.

Next Monday is Manning and the Broncos against Flynn and the Falcons - probably the game of the week.

    ???

Flynn? Surely Matt Ryan, unless a trade happened overnight?

Yes, my bad, Matt Ryan. (my own starting qb in fantasy football!)

excruciating watch it last night, like really really tough.

I watched like the first quarter and had to turn it off. Everytime there is a game break they go to this utterly naff music and show you all the table standings. They throw in the odd prerecorded piece about ray rice or andy dalton, but its drivel.

Bad enough that you are sitting on your own in your gaff, watching this at 1am, I couldn't sit through a full game....no way.

Why the hell would they bid for it and stick it there?

i agree. it wasnt coverage at all. it was an insult.

the same pic of andy dalton popping up with some paltry stats in between breaks.

youd want the laptop out to keep you occupied between breaks. i was bored.

    the world is a gutter

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,567 ✭✭✭Dymo

Why did they even bother to get the games when there just going to present it so poorly, the breaks drove me mad and just couldn't watch it anymore after the first half and would it of broke their hearts to go full screen. I was thinking of going down the route of recording the stream but I think it's not worth it now.

I watch the game for the commentary of punits too.

Full screen? How were you watching it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,289 ✭✭✭Guffy

No replays I don't think, but it is available on BBC iPlayer for the next 7 days. If you can't watch, find a proxy. :)

Im grateful someone actually bought MNF. Had it not being for the BBC we wouldn't have it on tv at all as annoying as BBC is with their coverage.

Agreed have to be grateful but really wish ESPN were showing it i found myself that bored during intervals i was on the laptop and that resulting in me not really getting into the game.

Its on red button now or channel 6711 using original instructions above

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭OldRio

In all fairness to the BBC they are showing both games back to back without the stops.
    Really enjoying it.

Monday night football on a Tuesday night at a decent time. Just missing a few beers.
That will be sorted next week.

Yeah they had the 2 games live last night and showing them again now without the ad breaks :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,753 ✭✭✭PokeHerKing

Steered clear of all NFL related social media today and just finishing watchin raiders chargers. Just reading the posts that watching it live on BBC sounds like a joke but the replay of the games is class!

Non stop and much more coverage then sky's highlights. I'll b doing the same every tuesday, can't complain really

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 6,337 Mod ✭✭✭✭PerrinV2

What time does it start on a tuesday?
I might watch then instead of monday

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Actually watching the condensed games without ads on the Tuesday wasn't bad at all.

Still would be nice to be able to record them though.

Was it just me or was Chris Berman announcing in the Raiders game absolutely awful. Embarrassing even.?

Not just you... he is awful.

If you can access the UK Freeview signal, it is on channel 301 and if you have a STB that record, then you're fine, you can record the game. For those using Freesat recorders or any sort of satellite PVR, the BBC Red Button channels can be tuned in and recorded from. If you have Sky, you're screwed!

Channel 4 are showing the 49ers tonight,I didn't know they had rights too

Sorry lads have been away for two weeks. Is this for real?

Is it true that there's no more Monday Night Football on ESPN aswell? No more Jaws, Gruden and Tirico? Who presents this on the Beeb?

Jaws was dropped during the off season, just Gruden and Tirico. Shame really, I thought the 3 of them worked very well together.

Dont forget the stats they should get a mention for their awesome work during the breaks.

If any of you lads have a PS3 and can get around the region lock-out then you can watch the games on the iPlayer on that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,115 ✭✭✭✭cena

How do you watch the games. Is it a red button thing. There is nothing on the bbc tv listing
