Dublin Bikes stations near Croke Park on match days

I was thinking of making my Dublin Bikes debut by cycling from The Dame St. area to Croke Park on Sunday.

Does anyone know if the stations up around Dorset St. are like on days when there's a big match in Croke Park?

As an alternative, would locking my own bike in the area be a bad idea?

Not sure about Dublin Bikes but I always lock my bike at the bottom of Fitzgibbon Street on the basis (perhaps mistaken) that there are enough Gardai in the vicinity on big match days.

Check the dublin bikes website for station info right before you leave. And be prepared to cycle a bit out of your way if the first one (or two, or...) are full. Make sure you know where all the nearby stations are

I have done this a couple of times, before an AIF QF and SF. I have gotten a DB from the city centre and deposited it at the station on mountjoy square, which is the closest to croker i think. now, for the SF i was perhaps an 40mins before throw-in, and i got the last stand available, so on busier days finding an empty stand would be your problem. if you go early enough you might be ok - also maybe tried the app, it seems pretty accurate to me.

Sherrard Street is probably the closest but as others have said, it may be full so consider Hardwicke Street, Mountjoy Square or Blessington St.
