what’s the best plan of action for the next year - for a person who is relatively strong but skinny/fat @ about 18 or 19% body fat

The aim is to get stronger/bigger/leaner.

    option A

spend a few months eating a caloric deficit & Diet down to about 9% body fat, while lifting at a moderate level a few times a week, then clean bulk from there and add weight to the bar.

    Option B
Bulk Now on a strength program, then cut later

    option C
    long slow body re-composition

I'm Really confused by the amount of information available on the web

I did well on strong lifts 5x5 in the past, but did put on a bit fair bit of weight in my mid section.

    Thanks in advance

    B.

Ps. if you're still skinny/fat you didn't do that well on stronglifts

In terms of strength gains I did well and wasn't skinny by while I was actively lifting heavy weights, but I haven't managed my protein/carb/fat ratio lately that's why I'm kinda skinny fat now

If you're actually 19% you're bordering on unacceptable IMO.

Cut hard for 4-6 weeks, learn the lifts and programming from someone who knows what they're doing, restore insulin sensitivity then bulk hard and clean.

...I've followed pretty much the exact same plan and it's doing awesome FWIW.
