    Hi there,

    I have a maxroam sim i have used previously for internet usage in my smartphone while on holidays.

    I have an unlocked 3 mifi (which removed the “incompatible sim” message.)

    I want to use the maxroam sim in my unlocked mifi while away in a weeks time and have been attempting to roam on any other network here in ireland unsuccessfully so far. Just wondering if somebody knew what exact settings and procedure i need to follow.

    In the 3 dashboard at http://192.168.1.1/
    these are my settings

    Profile Management
    Auto APN: = unticked
    Profile List = Maxroam(D)
    Profile name = Maxroam
    Dial-up Number = *99#
    User name = maxroam
    Password = maxroam
    Authentication = PAP
    APN: = Static = maxroam.com
    IP Address = Dynamic

    Mobile Connection
    Profile name = Maxroam
    Connection Mode = Manual
    Max Idle Time = 600s

    In Mobile Network Settings
    Network Preferred Mode = 3g
    Searching Network Mode = Manual

    Selecting Manual causes a network search and brings up a Network List, when I select any of the networks after “Network is registering, wait for a while” I get the message “failed”

    Can anyone tell me if any of the above is incorrect.
    Thanks

    Loads of info here at http://www.maxroam.com/info/faq.aspx?cur=EUR in particular I noticed
    Can I make a data connection (i.e. send and receive email/MMS/surf the internet)?
    To use this feature you need to enter our APN (mobile access point in your handset).
    If you are using one of our 'Maxroam Global' or 'iPad SIMs’, please use the following settings.
    APN:maxroam.com
    Username:maxroam
    Password:maxroam

    so as far as I can see your settings for a MiFi router are correct?

    Unfortunately I did the exact same thing as you and Maxroam don't support the device and couldn't help in the end! It has worked with every other sim overseas so far though!
