    Hey there,

Looking for like minded classic rock, blues rock and blues fans to meet up every couple of weeks to share our mutual love of this genre plus jam out a few tunes.

We're talking Derek and the Dominos, Faces, Free, Any blues, Stones, Allman brothers etc.

Nothing serious but hopefully we could make this a recurring jam session.

I'm 34 and I play guitar and would love to meet up with like minded bass, drums, keys and other guitarists...

Drop a line here if interested.

    Hi there,
Sounds interesting! I had to leave the band I was playing with due to shift work and would like to play with other musicians on a casual level. I play acoustic guitar and can throw out a tune on harmonica. I like playing oldtime blues and other old stuff like Neil Young, Dylan, Crowded house, anything really! I am 36 and I am based in Dublin 15.

    Keyzer,
Have you a mail address / twitter.. whatever we can all correspond and organise something on?

    Hi,

42 y/o guitar player here, living in Navan but in D15 regularly.

I'd like to meet up for a jam, I like Allmans, Hendrix, Clapton, Gilmour, ZZ Top etc., and the older blues players who inspired them,as well as some of the newer guys like Bonamassa, Mayer, Haynes and Trucks. :D

Sounds good, Im based in firhouse so not too far away. I'm 19 and play electric and acoustic guitar. Similar to your self I have a real passion for blues and blues/rock. I'd be interested in some casual jam sessions and learning some stuff from other like minded players.

    Cheers

    Gav

Wow, last time I checked we had zero responses so apologies for not checking in so often...

    Summary so far is:

    Keyzer: Guitar
    sherro1992: Guitar
    Blackhorse Slim: Guitar
    seanryan10: Guitar & Bass
    mydingaling: Guitar & Harmonica
    nalac01: ???

Serious lack of drums - anyone know anyone who can keep basic time on the pots and pans?

Seems like most people are in and around Dublin 15. I know of a very good rehearsal spot in Cabra where we can meet up, jam and shoot the sh1t...

Has anyone been to this place?

    www.camelotstudios.ie/

In Tyrellstown D15, looks well-equipped, €50 for 4 hours rehearsal time. Includes drums (not cymbals/snare/kick pedal) amps and PA.

Just looked up Camelot studios. That's a great set up and price! Their times and rates are flexible.

I laughed when I seen the name of the studio - I thought it was called camel toe studios which would have been way cooler.

Anyroads, I got a PM from a drummer last night who is interested in a jam.

So, who's playing bass? Does anyone have a bass and we can rotate the honors...

    Hi Keyzer,

Yeah, I misread it as cameltoe too - did a double take!

Great news about the drummer. Maybe bass playing duties can be shared amongst us guitarists, unless someone specifically wants to play bass? I wouldn't mind playing bass occasionally if needed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57 ✭✭seanryan10

    Hi all,
I've a cheap auld bass but would do the job.
    Don't mind playing it.
Does CamelToe Studios (lol) supply bass amps for free?
Anyway, I'm up for it. What about days?
    Weekends best? Saturday mornings maybe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57 ✭✭seanryan10

forget my question about the bass amp.
Here is what you get for you dough...

"Rates for a four hour session including PA,drum kit (minus snare, cymbals and kick pedal) ,bass amp, up to 2 guitar amps and up to 3 microphones, is 50 euro"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 dave1978

Hows it going. I'd definitely be interested in that, just what im looking for. Any spaces left? I'm a 33 year old guitarist.
    Cheers
    Dave

    The more the merrier man.

I'll be updating this later with details but for now I need each one of you to PM me your real name, mobile number and your instrument.

I'm going to setup a sms notification service where I can notify the group en masse - teamer.net is the site.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,331 ✭✭✭Keyzer

    Come on lads.

I've had two responses with mobile numbers. Let's keep this train a rollin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1 stacatto1

Hi, I'm a fairly inexperienced guitarist in the D15 area. I wouldn't mind tagging along to some jam sessions. I enjoy all the typical rock blues stuff and walks on the beach.

Setup the teamer profile and sent invites to those who responded to me via PM with details.

Let me know if you got the invitations to join the group: Camel Toe Jam

Equipment wise: I am self sufficient (have my own axe and amp) - I believe camel toe provide two guitar amps, one bass amp and half a drum kit along with a PA.

Prince John: do you have a snare, high hats and symbols in order to make sweet love to that drum kit?

I got the invitation and I have my own acoustic amp. Where exactly is "Cameltoe" Studios?? Looking at the map on their website and the location arrow points to a field!

Don't worry, we'll find it... If we have to play in a field then so be it.

Going to pencil something in shortly but most likely will be next weekend (Sept 19th) - hopefully we can keep the momentum going until then.

I'm thinking three simple and easy tunes to start the ball rolling?

I'll throw this one out, 3 chord wonder, this is the version from the Rainbow concert when he was still on the gear:

    Try to reset your password.

I'll put out potential dates on our inaugural camel toe jam later today.

Mad day yesterday guys, my 6 week old son is on Australian time, all over the place.

Keep the faith, we'll get this show on the road and I'll put prospective dates for a jam as either October 6th or 7th - do these days suit?

Plenty of notice now lads so lets keep the momentum rolling on this.

Love in vain by the stones is another possible tune to play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68 ✭✭prince john

    Should be fine

Fired up the electric guitar for the first time in months in the house at the weekend - it was a joyous occasion. Can't wait for the camel toe jam !!!...

Gonna drop camel toe studios a line now to see what availability is like.

    Stay tuned rockers...

    Hi all,
The Oct 6 is no good for me (unless it's after 7pm)... kids birthday party.
Anybody got any other idea's for tunes to play apart from the previous Clapton one?

Excellent stuff! The 6th would suit me better but if I'm not working then I can make the 7th

I've asked them for availability for the 6th and 7th - waiting a response.

Throw out some ideas lads, this is a collaboration.

How about at least one 12 bar blues standard? Something like Sweet Home Chicago, or How Blue Can You Get? Something that we can jam without any preparation needed, and take turns soloing.

How about a zz top number maybe Something like Jesus just left Chicago,We can have some fun with these songs and see how we get on.
Do we have someone who would like to sing some vocals

Either date suits, 6th or 7th.

4 hour sessions are 50 euro - full back line included.

I reckon I book it for 12 noon, we show up, have a few introductions and setup/tune up for an hour then get stuck in.

I'd love to do this but it might be a bit ambitious for our first go:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,331 ✭✭✭Keyzer

Lads: let me know what the preference is here.

Sat Oct 6th or Sun Oct 7th ???

I want to book it in the coming days...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68 ✭✭prince john

6th would be best but could go with 7th also

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,269 ✭✭✭Blackhorse Slim

Either day is ok with me.

I can't do the 6th but the 7th is good

The 7th would be best for me.
The 6th daytime is a definite no as stated previously.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,331 ✭✭✭Keyzer

    7th it is then.

How does 11AM start sound? Spend an hour getting ready and introductions etc. and jam from midday to 3PM?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57 ✭✭seanryan10

11am.. 7th Oct. Good for me!
