There's a whole range of cardiac services which weren't previously available. Things like having stints inserted require at least an overnight stay.

Bobs in Cork is huge but they still hunt you out the door as soon when they deem fit.

I'm not sure how many of these services were and weren't available at the old Barrington's site but I can see Cadiology, Neurology and Respiratory operations needing overnight stays at the very least

Neurology is just scans and there are no respiratory services listed for Limerick when you click in. Some cath lab stuff will require a stay overnight.

I stand by my original post that lots of people don't understand what this hospital is and are getting a bit excited. Most people will never see the inside of this place just like Barringtons.

Now that I didn't see coming

The way a lot of the media portray it makes it seem like a private version of UHL, like something you saw on scrubs back in the 00's. I think people can be forgiven for making that assumption with the media hype. It's certainly a step up from the VHI and Laya clinics in fairness

I see a proposal has gone in for Roxboro Shopping Center to repurpose the empty internal units.

The units and square around the old post office are to be converted into one large unit.

The rest of the units and the internal street are to be converted into an open plan office, meaning that the internal street will be gone.

They're also proposing converting the old Xtra Vision unit into a cafe and opening a gym in the corner unit next to Mr Price.

The former Theatre Royal has had a bit of a face-lift and there is a new play on there next month.

It's very rough and ready but the intention is to do a full renovation in stages.

Seems to have been a lot of positive momentum from the fake refurb.

Interesting to see what could be done long term. Is there something they can do to make them different to the Belltable. As well Dolans and the universities probably have the big comedy gigs sown up.

But for instance the Belltable does a great IFI cinema night but it's very arthouse and respectable. Maybe do something like the drunken singalong nights at the Prince Charles in London. They already done a dog friendly night which personally sounds like my idea of hell but fair play for being innovative.

Not it's first rise from the ashes either.

I heard that the first part of the Coonagh to Knockalisheen Road should be opening next week, all going well. This is the bit from Tesco Coonagh to the Country Club. It will be later in the year/early next year when the rest of the road opens.

It was supposed to be finished in the 14th and it's been pushed back to the 28th now.
I'm looking forward to having easy access to Tesco now. It's gonna make for an interesting traffic situation when the Xmas rush kicks in too.

It's opening to allow the Old Cratloe Road to be closed until December.
