Great to see work starting on the old Debenhams building today

There's a lot of construction traffic up and down the Clonmacken road from Ivans Cross to the tunnel direction every night for the last week or 10 days. From about midnight to 5am. Anyone know what's going on in the area?

Work is under way on the TUS to City Centre active travel scheme.

Limerick City and County Council wish to advise motorists and road users that construction works as part of the TUS to City Active Travel Scheme will take place on the  R445 Cratloe Road between Moylish Roundabout and Hassett’s Cross from May 2025 to December 2025, daily from 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs. As a result, Traffic Management will be in operation for the duration of the works.

It seems crazy that this section (~0.5km) will take 6 months to complete

The section being worked on already has a cycle lane and they are digging up the road. It's right at the start of Brookville by Ivans.

Looks more like water works or electrical.

They are also working on the "green" area near the bus stop close the Mayorstone Garda Station, they have removed the concrete pavement they that was leading to TUS which I suspect has more to do with the cycle lane than the area you talk about as it's the incorrect location and as you correctly say it already has a cycle lane.

None of above explains the midnight to 5am construction traffic - I'll have to hop in the car & follow it some night

If you are talking about traffic moving through that area and not stopping to work there then it could literally be for anything going on in Limerick.
