What level/position are you looking to Play?

Best Idea is to just go back training Tuesday and Thursday nights and dont rush playing matches until you feel ready.

If you are looking to play 2nd row/back row you should try drop some weight first it will make training and staying injury free alot easier.

i played no.8 last time but am unsure as to where i would be most suited to play now,but i guess that will be decided by the coach

i am starting to drop weight and starting some light sprints and cardio over the next few days....any certain exercise that is reccomended for both rugby/weight loss?

Weights wise if your an absolute beginner to weights you'd be better off spending your time going to training and concentrating on getting your fitness up.

If you really want to work on weights google starting strenght but I would not recommend trying to do both at the same time. Best singel exercise for rugby in my opinion is Deadlifts but it all depends on your personal strenghts/weaknesses.

Best bet is to keep losing weight get your cardio up and just show up for training now. You have about 2 weeks till most teams start regular season games.

In terms of weights - squats, power cleans, and push presses will help a lot. Both in terms of power on the pitch and injury prevention.

For cardio, interval sprints and shuttle runs are you best bet.
