Good free kick and might be on penalties.

Jovetic and Dzeko should start, aguero hasn't kicked a ball since the WC final he isn't fit so won't play,Kompany is also out with an injury, other than that they should have the rest available

Cheers, 4/6 is still tempting though!

    United vs Swansea BTTS 11/10.
I expect united to win this but with the injury problems I can see Swansea getting a goal even though United have conceded very little in preseason.

BTTS and United win at 2/1 is good value i can;t see anything but a United win.

Bournemouth at home last season 11 wins from 23 finished at home very strong 5 wins and 2 draws from the last 8 game.

Brentford newly promoted last season highest points scorers at home and out of the top 5 by a good bit had the lowest away points.

Bournemouth smashed Huddersfield away 4-0 in the first game and at home to newly promoted Brentford they look a steal at 17/20.

Cardiff relegated and still have some good players. They drew away to Blackburn who are one of the fancied teams this season.

Huddersfield lost 4-0 at home, manager sacked and now have to travel to Cardiff which will be tough.

Can't see anything besides a Cardiff win at 4/6.

Blackburn well fancied this year a solid draw at home to Cardiff and finished 8th last season.

Blackpool 2-0 defeat first game, nearly relegated last season and have lost lots of players.

Blackburn 4/6 is a great bet.

Stoke, Bournemouth, Blackburn and Cardiff accum at 9/1

All of the above -1 at 100/1

Also btts and a United win could be the bet to start the day off.

First day of the season probably shouldn't be touched, certainly not for big money .... But that's no fun :-D

    Went with €89 treble 7/1ish

    Man United -1
    Blackburn rovers win
    Bristol city win

feel man United at home with van gaal and Rooney captain boost they'll be far superior, pre season friendlies count for nothing but United have been impressive beating some top teams (Valencia Madrid pool inter Roma) whilst Swansea have struggled against Villarreal, Bournemouth Minnesota and chivas... United bettered the -1 against swans home and away last season and I think they are stronger team than last years squad.

If Blackburn are going to mount a challenge for promotion it's games like today they must win. Everyone knows the story with the Blackpool depleted squad which is why I'm going for Blackburn away, hopefully Rhodes is on song today. Shrewsbury a league 2 side managed to beat them mid week - although this comp is meaningless for bpool they still were forced to play their full team and still lost.

Bristol city are the favourites to win league 1 this season, they are generally extremely solid at home, they beat fellow league 1 favs Sheffield United away last week which was a massive result. I'm not paying any attention to their midweek loss at the hands of Oxford as they played a second string team so the result is meaningless. Colchester have an extremely poor away record also.

Probably daft going big on an opening day treble , not extremely confident on the bet -1 bets generally rue me, they are extremely difficult to click. Championship away wins are generally hard to come by, I thought Forrest were going to win by more at home last week so maybe Blackpool ain't as bad as we expect.

Bristol City is the safest part of this treble, I may back them €120 straight win 4/6 to hopefully break even at least

    Few Scottish fancies today -

Motherwell 6/4, should win at home, inver generally don't travel well, Motherwell beat them last 3 meets last season. Motherwell probably the second best team in spl this season they should be winning this one at home.

Btts Hamilton and Saint johnny 4/5 - Hamilton impressed me in playoffs to get to spl , they got a good win midweek to get them off the mark, despite not scoring in their first home spl game I think they will net at least 1 here - St. John generally concede away. St. John should be too superior not to get at least 1 them selves

Queen of the South 23/20 - qos are probably the strongest champ team behind the big 3, Dumbarton will find them selves struggling at the bottom of the league this season....

    Best of luck folks :-D

Under 2.5 in Celtic vs Dundee @ 2.10

Under 3.5 in the Celtic game & Arsenal to win @ 1.75

Over 2.5 in Tiraspol vs Zimbru @ evens (small bet cuz I hate overs :D)

I really like To Score First (Swansea) @ 4.00 and Baletimbi Gomis Anytime @ 6.50

I cannot help but feel that Utd are fielding a worse team today than they had out last year (due to injuries) - and a highly experimental back 3 to boot. That does not fill me with confidence to go all in on them at a terrible price. I feel like it will take more than one match for Utd to get the horrors of last season out their season, and I am happy to oppose them for this first game out.

Gomis is a beast IMO, and I don't think bookies will have him at such a big price once we get a few weeks into the season.

Lass what are your thoughts on PSG vs Bastia?

Ibrahimovic 2+ goals is Evens on PaddyPower but is 5/2 with Ladbrokes. Not sure how bad Bastia are though.

If it was last year I'd say go for it, but we did well in our first game vs Marseille and our new coach Makelele was the assistant coach at PSG for 2 yrs so he probably knows their weaknesses more than any other coach... You could try it as our defense was pretty weak vs Marseille.

Nolan Anytime Card @ 3.25 (West Ham v Spurs)

Said last year he is not getting any younger, and will be lungeing in a few times for tackles especially against the players with pace. Spurs have lots of pace, and Nolan us now a year old. I'll give that a go.
