    Anyone have any tips on building calf muscles?
    I find they are the hardest muscle to build...

    1. Build up your squat
    2. Do standing calf raise for 15-20 reps
    3. Do seated calf raises for same

    I found uphill running left me with pretty big calves.

    up-hill running is good. would add: down hill sprints. find a good steep incline, walk up it, sprint down it. seems to zap mine anyway.

    3. Do seated calf raises for same

    15-20 reps builds muscle endurance, this guy is looking for muscle hypertrophy, so 8-10 sets of 3-5 reps would be more ideal. Also the reason I suggested eccentric exercise was because muscle hypertrophy will occur mostly during eccentric loading :D

    For most exercises I agree. Calfs seem to respond better to high reps though
