    Hi guys,
I joined a gym during college last year and seen good results in terms of bulking up. However i've lost some muscle mass during the summer and am thinking about taking protein shakes when i get back to the gym. What is the best brand in ye're opinion in terms of value/results/taste?
    Thanks! :)

I was going to recommend an online brand that works out at 1/2 the price of protein sold in the shops, and give you links to it, but then I noticed that you've get some replies and haven't bothered your ars3 to reply or even thank the replies while you've had plenty of time to do so, so you can go and sh1te.

For value, probably MyProtein (massive range) or bulkpowders (cheapest 5kg bags)

I bought a 5kg bag of MP Chocolate flavour whey protein last week for around €80 which I thought was good value until I realised that the Best Before date is January 2013 and I doubt I will get through 5kg in 4 months.

Not sure how the quality of MP would compare to Optimum Nutrition or TMU, would there be a noticeable difference?

Should be able to get through 5KG in 5 months. 1kg a month isn't much.

MP put a year on their bags whereas other co's put upto 3 years on theirs in some cases, 2 years is very common.

This is always a best before end which is essentially a retest date and in almost all cases it would be good for another year or two if stored and handled correctly.

Is this one of the side effects of the brand you use??

Prob best to stay from it I would think!!

If that's all you have to contribute then don't bother in future.

I am flying through it so I probably will use it up before the BBD expires, but nevertheless it means that I would be cautious before buying protein in bulk from MP, and may serve as a warning to anyone who was thinking of buying two or more 5kg bags to bulk and save postage costs.

Very true but thats the risk when you buy online. I've heard of people getting tubs of whey with a month left on it. Stuff should've been sold short dated by the supplement store.

Any. can easily happen if stock isn't rotated correctly.

    ON.

I've been taken protein shakes for 15 years and in my experience it's best to take something than you enjoy and that tastes good. The vanilla ice-cream with a banana / oats and a tablespoon of peanut butter (no sugar) is my favorite breakfast.

I just got protein off discountsupplements.ie it was kinetica though! The delivery was really fast (two days) and if your order is over €50 the delivery is free :)

    Hope this helps!

Ya I've tried a few but I've stuck with Kinetica (vanilla) recently, I find it mixes nice and quickly and actually tastes good! I get it in the Jervis st. Ben Dunne gym, they have a supps store.
