Michu. West Ham have been leaking goals pre-season, I expect Swansea to score.

    Bale for me!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

For a differential, I think McClean or Bale could come up trumps this week, so I may go with either.

Bale at home to west brom for me i'd imagine.

could get tempted by michu though.

Hazard was captain this week, happy enough to keep him there for now..

Defoe for me unless Spurs sign a new striker before then.

It's on Bale at the moment anyway.

    May change though!

    Tevez against Liverpool for me.

Likely Main Striker and Liverpool will be without Agger.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

We were wondering who the first bandwagon would be: All aboard the Michu train!

I'm expecting United to bounce back after the Everton game, along with Fulham falling apart after their huge win - so if anyone has a United striker, I'd go with him.

I don't have one myself, and I don't fancy gambling on Kagawa as captain just yet, so it'll probably be Tevez for me.

I haven't completely given up on Torres yet, either. A couple of goals on Wednesday may sway me into a semi-confident differential at home on Sat.

Quite a big gamble putting rvp as captain in my opinion especially seeing as he didn't get a start nor a sniff when he hit the pitch

really cant decide between Torres and Tevez. Torres showing he can still score last night has rent my Tevez certainty in twain. I'm equally confident of either scoring so guess it's a nice dilemma to have!

Torres was awful and only scored an offside tap in so i wouldnt look much into that goal.

    really tough one this.

nothing between bale, michu, RVP and tevez for me.

bale - looked good in match against newcastle. playing very high up.
michu - looks the real deal, nice home fixture against west ham.
RVP - should start, united to do one their famed "bounce backs". fulham notoriously poor away from home.
tevez - looked very sharp against southampton, main man with aguero out. liverpool look awful. my only worry here is pool will shut up shop to avoid embarrassment in front of the home fans.

I don't think that it is in Rodgers' nature to do something like that. I'd say they'll come out and try to pass the ball again. If it works then the score will probably be low. If it doesn't then City could run riot.

I'm looking at Tevez myself. Don't have Michu. Have Graham but don't want to chance him.

At the moment, Kagawa for me. Walker currently set as vice-captain, but tempted to bring Lennon in to replace Mata so he may get the nod.

Kagawa with Michu as vc. I think Kagawa has the class to do damage to Fulham at Old Trafford. He was the only outfield player against Everton that did himself justice.

    Agree totally,looks proper clas.
Kagawa,Hazard,Cazorla all look top quality recruits to the EPL thiss eason and all pose many problems for FF players.......
Alot more quality in midfield than up front this season i think.

I voted for RVP, but I'm having second thoughts. I reckon RVP will start and I'd expect him to do the business in his first game in front of a home crowd, with the added hunger of losing the opening fixture, but....

    Michu is awful tempting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,009 ✭✭✭✭wnolan1992

I'm going for McLean. At home against Reading and he got 3 BP's last week, so hoping he'll come through for me.

    Michu as VC I think.

The decisions I made last week bit me in the hole, so I'm willing to be putting McLean as captain will as well... :pac:

Debating playing fairly safe and going with Kagawa (don't have RVP yet ) or chancing Graham ?

Pretty much a coin flip for me between Michu and Bale. Ended up just going by the poll on FFScout and picking Michu. I don't think Swansea will turn over West Ham that easily but confident in Michu being involved in anything good that happens.

I initially voted for Tevez, however, thinking more about it, Mr. Moon's advice is just so true. I got in Michu last Saturday, before Swansea's match ended, so I am going to give him the armband against West Ham at home, where Swansea were excellent for much of last season anyhow.

Lost a little ground last week by not having Hazard so hopefully captaining Michu might be a nice boost.

All of the Michu bandwagon hoppers may (I say may) be well disappointed, one game in a season, especially the first game do's not justify the madness of transfers in of him, give him 6 /8 games to get settled them get him in if he has proven himself...
For me captain this week shall be Ade - raring to go and WBA at home...

Ade is risky I think, don't get me wrong, he was generally very good at home last year and I'm keeping him on the watchlist but it's a new manager and he may not be first choice before defoe or match fit with a limited preseason, saying that I'm going with RVP, who is a risky option this week too probably!

I picked Michu because I have Podolski (away to Stoke), Tevez (away to Liverpool) and Torres (not away but he's not reliable) up front. I do have Bale (home to WBA) but he didn't impress against Newcastle. So without wanting to take a point hit, because he is at home and because he impressed last week - I'm going with Michu :D

No, but I'm captaining him anyway. Otherwise it's Torres (ha!), Hazard (promising but even after last week, rotation is a risk), Kagawa (promising but United haven't hit the ground yet), Siggy (risky) or Graham (see last week).

With the way the votes are spread, captain choice is going to be a bag of laughs this weekend.

Ha I hate the chap but I think he's my only option really. Only other one I have is Bale. Tevez has two in his last two. Hope he keeps it up.

Quote by Michael Laudrup on Danny Graham: "Every day the connection between Danny and Michu looks better and better and we can expect a lot from them. I don’t know what Danny’s record is, but if he stays fit I would say he can score between 15 and 20 goals in the Premier League.” Tempted to take a punt on him this week. He has only 7% ownership so if it works out, could be a nice little differential.

And you say you have no standout candidates?

Tevez, Michu, De Gea, Carzorla would all make great captains this week IMO.

I'd lean towards De Gea because I think he's likely to keep a clean sheet against Fulham, and might even pick up a few saves. Tevez would be a safer option though.

Well I didn't say I had a squad full of duds. Just no single player is jumping out. You've listed 4 alternatives for example.

Basically, I can think of numerous reasons not to captain each of my players.

De Gea is one that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere yet but I really think he could be a decent shout. Just wondering does the board agree/disagree.

I'm not mad on the idea of captaining a keeper or a defender.

Chances are that said player will have to play brilliantly for 90 minutes to be guaranteed the clean sheet points. If they let in a freak goal after 5 minutes then the next 85 minutes are a waste and your captain pick is a write off.

Contrast that with Torres last week. Did nothing all game and still scored. De Gea would not get away with that, especially not against an in form Fulham team.

I think Tevez is your best bet with Cazorla/Michu vice captain.
