Fitness Regime Help

    Hi all,

Looking for some advice, any at all, on trying to initiate and maintain a fitness regime from here until Christmas, as I feel that, particularly since my holidays, I have let myself go. I will give a bit of background on myself before going into detail on what I would be looking to achieve.

I am 26 years old, a teacher and would have considered myself very fit up until the age of about 21. Now, by no means have I let myself go to a significant extent, but certainly I do feel slightly pudgier in my lower abdomen, my fitness levels have definitely dropped and, well, just feel a bit soft at the moment.

In college, I was more concerned with going out than keeping up my interest in competitive sports. I am a smoker, and do enjoy my pints at the weekend. My diet isn't great - mostly meat and would never even consider eating a salad! I'm making myself out to sound quite gruesome here but I promise I am not - I am 5ft 11, and weigh 12 and a half stone.

Not ideal for sure, but also not hugely worrying...just looking for some dietary and exercise tips and advice on how to tone up and to feel healthy and just to generally get rid of this post-holiday feel...in particular my lower stomach feels horrible!

Phew, sorry for that mini essay, but any advice on the above would be most appreicated.

    Cheers.

    Hey man,

If your just looking to loose a bit of weight, its just a case of counting your calories IMO while eating healthy and nutrion-dense foods. Meats are a pretty good start as long as there not the processed/frozen **** you get in a bag (Chicken nuggets etc.)

Best advice I can give you is to give yourself a cheat day every so often (maybe every 3 pds you loose) were you can just eat whatever ya want.

Bitta exercise thrown in with a healthy diet. Its simple.

In order to lose weight or lose body fat, you must use more calories than you eat by controlling your food intake and/or increasing your exercise routine - like doing more swimming or walking or running.
