I've noticed there are loads of apps for logging you periods. Are they any use? Do any of you use them?

I think they can be a good idea for people who find it hard to track their cycle.

However, my experience of these seem to be of woman who are trying to be 'out there', shouting to the roof top and telling the whole office that they are logging an entry in their period calendar.

How inappropiate! That's not my plan :D

I found a normal calendar will does the job just as well.

I'm on the pill these days, so tend to be super-regular, thankfully. A period tracker app wouldn't have done me much good before I went on it because my cycle was all over the place.

I use one. Only because I am usless keeping track of time and dates.

Wouldn't be going around shouting it from the rooftops though!

I use ovuview and find it very good. Easy to use and looks quite nice. Can be set to 'trying to concieve' but mine is set to 'avoiding pregnancy' :p

Most seem to have a 'trying' option. Do they have a 'avoid pregnancy' option?

Yep, as I say that's what mine is set to. You can also just select a simple one which just acts as a calendar.

I'm going back on the pill this month but i could have done with a period app the last 6 months. I'm useless with dates and never knew when i was due.

I use Period Tracker Deluxe. I find it so so handy keeping tabs on my symptoms more than anything else- it helped me pinpoint days in my cycle that I'm extra irritable, bloated, etc. Also helped me and my gynaecologist rule out certain issues.

I always get mine a few days before payday, I know this because I am always broke and have to look around for money for tampons :p God bless monthly pay, helps keep track of my cycle!

I looked it up and it sounds good but it's not free.

Are there any good free period apps out there?

A good symptoms tracker would be great.

Have you see a doctor about it? I don't mean to freak you out or anything but I would want to have tests to rule out any problems. Better to know now and possibly get treatment if needed rather than find out if you have problems conceiving down the road.

Since I came off the Pill my periods have been fairly regular, and I thought I knew the date roughly. Until one month a few back, I was around 10 days late. Freaked out of course, but one thing I kept thinking is I have to start keeping track of when it is due, so I don't worry needlessly.

I have an app, it's called Pink Pad (gross when you think about it :pac:). It's fine really. I've only been using it a couple of months now, so it hasn't quite learned my cycle, but it's getting there. I woke up yesterday morning to a little flower in my notifications scrolling thing, and it says 'Flowers are blooming' or something :D I was like yeah great, good to know when to be more wary. All the apps I looked at before downloading this seemed to be about planning for a baby and your period in relation to that. Didn't see any that were purely a period tracker.

This one has a mood recording part too btw. I'm hoping it'll help me figure out if my moods are just me, or if they're anything like pms.

I have the Pill Reminder app, very handy. I used to be terrible at taking my pill on time, or even remembering to take it at all! Must get a look at the period tracker ones.

I use the aptly named 'Ladytimer' but it's not that great to be honest. Gonna try the 'ovuview' one mentioned.
